The lights are on
Just try and keep an open mind when playing this game. I'll admit it, and for a lack of better terms, this game is, what my friends call, a "***-bag game". I've played Duke back on the PS1 and loved all the one-liners he spouted. This game, for some reason, feels like he's "forcing" all the humor out. Some of its funny, but often times, I ended up rolling my eyes and felt like I was playing as a high school jock more than an action hero. The gunplay is nothing to praise about. It's there. Thats it. Weapons attempt to look and feel different but in the end, they all fall into the same category: heavy machine gun, pistol, shotgun, rocket launcher, heavy machine gun made by aliens, etc.
I'm not going to bash this game for all it's worth. I mean, i did it get it for 10 bucks on Steam. And there are some things I disagree with on what other reviewers say. But, in the end, it is what you make of it. I had fun while it lasted and I'm probably not going to revisit it anytime soon. Probably in the future for s***s and giggles. Multiplayer is also something thats not worth much talking about. If you're good at it, then you're good. And if you're bad like me, expect a lot of cheap deaths.
This game is on par with a little above average (a C+) and average (a C).
