New Screenshots Of Dragon Age: Inquisition

Update: Even more Dragon Age: Inquisition shots have emerged today. We've added them to the gallery below.

Original Story:

BioWare has a gift for its fans. After yesterday’s news that the next Mass Effect is already in a playable form, the developer wants to remind you that Dragon Age: Inquisition is coming along nicely, too.

There are three new screenshots of the game that we featured in our September 2013 issue. Additionally, BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn shared a picture via Twitter of the tarnishing process used on equipment.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is due out in 2014. For much more, you can read the coverage from our September 2013 issue.

  • Nice hat.

  • So excited for this! And that hat.

  • With DA: Inquisition and Witcher 3... Can't wait for next year! (now I just need an "official" announcement for Fallout 4...)
  • One thing I REALLY hope they do - get rid of cooldowns, and work on the regeneration rates of mana and stamina. I'm not gonna lie - this series has pretty much stuck at "mediocre" for me. It's the pacing that's really horrible. The first one had a really monotonous combat system (And I don't feel like arguing over the first one's story with anyone - suffice it to say, I can't enjoy a story where I'm constantly questioning why we're doing any of this), and the second one sped it up without fixing it. The problem is cycles. No matter how many new and useful spells you learn, at the end of the day it's just additional steps in a sequence. Part of strategy is having to choose, and when you can just run down the line it's really not very strategic. Make me have to seriously consider what I do next. Putting each spell on a separate cooldown prevents that.
  • That is a nice hat. I want that hat.

  • I like these shots, but I LOVE that hat!
  • pimp hats for everyone!!!

  • The screenshot that excites me the most is probably the one of the quanari. I am really excited to play as them in Dragon Age III: Inquisition.

  • Still not sold on this one, hope they put out some legit gameplay some day.

  • anti***ting with fervor and zeal!

  • Looks good, I just hope the game has more substance to it than DA2 had.

  • As big of a fan as I am of the Dragon Age series (including the second) I can't wait for this game. I wonder if Hawke or the Warden/Warden-Commander will make an appearance.
  • I am in the small minority of people who actually enjoyed DA2. I don't think it was anything remotely amazing, but it was still an enjoyable game. A huge step up in gameplay compared to DA1, but also a huge step down in practically everything else from it. I love BioWare, so I'm willing to give DA3 a good chance, or at least save my hating for when they actually show something substantial other than screenshots and a 1 min gameplay video. Though no RPG, this year at least, is going to beat The Witcher 3. FACT!
  • the hat just looks like a cowboy hat..I am looking more forward awesome lightldark heavy armors :) I have high hopes for this game, I hope it isn't rushed.

  • Why's that guy wearing a fortune cookie for a hat? I guess it makes sense. Dragon Age does kind of sound like the name of a chinese takeaway.

I'm interested to see if they can make the console version actually playable, without massively comprimising the PC version as with DA2. Even if they do get it right this time, I still don't know how excited I really am. Dragon Age has always had very disappointing dragons, despite them being the series' namesake. After Skyrim and Game of Thrones I can't excuse crumby looking dragons that have forelegs/arms aswell as wings, they just don't look right, let alone scary.

  • Can't wait to see Morrigan again.

  • The way the Quanari look is starting to worry me. I liked the ones from Dragon Age 2 the best, not these disproportional hulking monsters. The rest of the game looks great, though. As long as it's more like Origins, I'm buying it.

  • Easily one of my most anti***ted games...looks good.  As with everything, it'll only be determined how good it is once we get our hands on it.

For the record, I liked both DA:O and DA:2.

  • why I feel skyrim?!!

  • I want that hat.
