Dota 2 First Blood Update Adds GLaDOS And LAN Support

Dota 2 is getting a large update tomorrow that adds things like LAN support, new treasures, and the Portal Pack.

LAN play will allow up to 9 Dota-ers to play with connected computers. Weapon management is receiving an update, and a new game-type called Captain's Draft will be added. Purchasing the Portal Pack adds GLaDOS as an announcer, Aperture Science Wardcores, and a Portal HUD skin.

The First Blood update will be available tomorrow, September 23. You can learn more about it here. Check out our Dota 2 review here.

  • The LAN portion is by far the best part.
  • Just read through the notes on their site, and THEY NERFED THE FOUNTAIN HOOK
  • Super excited to pic up the Portal pack. LAN is almost essential for tournaments, so it's great that they're adding that too.

  • You had me at "GLaDOS as an announcer."

  • I'm personally most excited for the Captain's Draft mode. Should make pub matches more interesting.

  • What a sweet update captains draft, lan support, and best of all we may have us a 6.79 boss fight coming soon in standard ice frog tradition :) sweet stuff

  • Only 9 players for LAN? That's not enough for a full game... quite puzzling.

Edit: I read the source and it says you can play with up to 9 friends, for a total of 10 people. That makes so much more sense.
  • My fantasies have been fully recognized now.

  • LAN?!? I don't even play Dota 2 and that sounds fun. I wish they did that for League of Legends.

  • Mod

AAAAAAAAAAAAH SO EXCITED!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. oooooh the fresh blood that I shall soon be feasting upon as I dance over the bodies of my fallen enemies while farm myself to fat proportions and murder people with supports. This shall be a good day....
