Dishonored

The Darkness Of Dunwall

Bethesda Softworks and developer Arkane Studios have released a small handful of screens for Dishonored that show off the dire situation within Dunwall.

The city is overrun by a plague and both a coup and assassination of the Empress also contribute to the grim environs of the capital.

The new screens in the gallery below both show off the city's environments as well as combat and stealth aspects. Dishonored's gameplay lets players combine different powers and gadgets to provide plenty of options to overcome adversity.

  • This is looking superb. Roll on 2012.

  • This is the game I am most exited for at the moment. Right after Skyrim and Borderlands 2 of course.

  • Screen shots and hollow promises are all we have right now, show me some gameplay, then I will make my decision about this game.

  • Has a bioshock vibe to it.

  • i like that blade

  • Reminds me of bioshock in a way...I love it

  • Looks to me like Bioshock Infinite has some major competition in 2012.

  • Lots of angry people.

  • Mod

    Watch out! Its Screenblur McGavin!

  • I've been reading about this game since day 1. I NEED IT IN MY PS3 NO HOMO

  • I LOVE the look of this game.  Tech meets early 1900s meets swordplay.  Everything about this screams "epic new IP".

  • Love the devs behind this game, love what they say they're going to do with it... but I think I'm going to avert my gaze from screenshots and the like for a while... at least until they get anti-aliasing in order :|

  • Wow this game has an excellent and unique art style, I really like it. Also, that strange car looks so much like the Combine APC heh, so cool.
  • Not buying into this until we see some real gameplay
  • It reminds me of Bioshock.. But I love Bioshock.. So I guess that's good.

  • show up the good game in http://goo.gl/bE88E
  • Screens look good, cant wait for some gameplay videos.

  • I don't know. I see the publicity this game is getting, and I watched the stuff they put out about their concept for the game, and I want to like it, but there's just not much to go on right now. The atmosphere is cool, the concept is cool, but the execution will make the difference.

I'm hoping for something that feels new. It's a new IP, the feel of the game should match that.

Also, I haven't seen alot of shots where you are OFF the ground, like upstairs watching someone downstairs, or in a tree waiting to assassinate, or something like that. That would fit awesome in a game like this.

  • Bioshock Infinite meets HalfLife 2? Colour me interested.

  • Art style is kind of grim and grey. Is it so hard for developers to inject just a little bit of color into their games?
