You do realize that being exiled to Sanctuary was part of the Prime Evils plan right? Sure, they might still have lost even if it was not their plan, but the fact that they wanted to be exiled and them potentialy not going full out imo make the loss say nothing about their strength.

It's Azmodan, The Lord of Sins. He's one of four [known] Lesser Evils, just like Duriel, Andariel and Belial. They are (I believe) second in command in hell, with the three Prime Evils, Diablo, Maphisto and Baal being first.

You do realize that the lesser evils actually beat the crap out of Diablo Mephisto and Baal right? That's how those three ended up on Sanctuary. So no, he won't be cowering before anybody.
