Destiny: The Taken King
The latest weekly update from Bungie offers some tantalizing glimpses of the Dreadnaught, the new playable area premiering in Destiny: The Taken King, set for release on September 15. The new art reveals both concept and in-game visuals of the strange ship fortress of Oryx.
In addition to some art reveals, Bungie is highlighting how gameplay is going to be different in the Dreadnaught. Patrols are going to be much more difficult, and public events are much larger and more involved than before. Players can trigger these events, but the exact methods behind that process remain mysterious. The update also suggests that the Dreadnaught will be home to a “lot of breadcrumb trails” that lead to interesting secrets and loot.
Finally, we get a glimpse of a new enemy that makes its home in one of the upcoming strikes set aboard the Dreadnaught. The Darkblade is just one of the new enemies players are set to face, adn the update includes a look at both the character and his giant axe.
Before closing out its update, Bungie promises that some big news is on the way next week, so it may be a big week for Destiny news if you’re a fan of the shooter. In the meantime, check out the details on the recently revealed weapon foundries, and how those are set to change the game. You can also read the full weekly update from Bungie.
