The lights are on
During E3 this year, Sony revealed its upcoming, free-to-play Vita RPG Destiny of Spirits. Today, we get a new look and new information about the game.
Destiny of Spirits uses a location-based model to team players up to fight enemies. You'll be able to use different items to rent and permanently summon spirits to aid you in battle.
There is also a mechanic that allows players to merge spirits, in essence sacrificing some of your collection to enhance another fighter. Renting allows you to flesh out your roster, and if you happen to rent a spirit that belongs to a friend, that unit will come with an additional skill.
A closed beta test will be running for selected invitees October 24 through 31. You can see the game in action below.

Hope this does well. I'd love to see something like this be the Vita's answer to Pokemon. Of course, they need to polish it up a bit by the looks of it, and hopefully change that F2Play crap.
so its like those battle and get the cards kind of game... i was really hoping it wasnt going to be like that but hey ill give it a try.
All the more reason for me to keep my Vita.
It's good to see the FTP titles making their way past laptops and consoles all the way to handhelds!!! ^_^
