If you're not prepared you'd be dead. I think the best way to kill them is mix different drinks together to form certain boosts to raise your advantages. It seems you can challenge them at a certain time in the game. With that time you can find new mods to forming better more destructive weapons. You can also try getting a few co-op players to help you, that can be a REAL help. On some phsycopaths, using melee weapons is ineffective, probably from them being too fast, too agile, or too strong, enough to knock you down in one hit. I'd say using guns against them would be very effective. If you have trouble killing the phsycopaths, try different techniques.

Blog Post: Dead Rising 2 makes zombie killing almost unresistable.

I've recently beaten the second installment to the Dead Rising series, and I must say this. I had a hell of time. Whether It was completing a mission from the story line, or just randomly going about massacring hundreds of the undead, I just had fun with it. Dead Rising 2 has beautiful graphics, and a interesting out look on weapon creation. First, the visual appearance of this game isn't the best, but character models are brilliant, the zombies are gorgeous(In a grotesque zombie way) and the environment is radiant, and gives off a polished look. Now on to the weapon creation, and my favorite part of the game. From a homicidal teddy bear, to flaming boxing gloves, the depth customizable weapons is both fun, an nearly endless. But no matter how good a game is there are always problems, and this game is no different. Repeatedly back tracking kind of ruins the fun, and some slight bugs made me curse at the game in anger. (I had tried to get in a car, instead Frank became stuck, until a zombie attacked me.) Also, after a while the gameplay starts to grow stale, and you may find yourself wondering what your going to play next. Besides these small problems, Dead Rising 2 is a solid playing experience that fans, or people that just love destroying zombies can enjoy.

-------->TheRealGamer O    O<---------

                                      --------

Blog Post: It's good but no left 4 dead

Dead rising 2 is fun. For the most part. The fun part is a great story followed by a great weapon creation system and fun gameplay. The coop is also fantastic. However, many times the gameplay will often grow stale and repetive and the bosses are just annoying. Not to mentikon the fact that whenever you die you go to the save restroom place. This is a hassle when you die to an annoying boss and have to make the long walk back to the place where the boss is.

Blog Post: The original plus some.

I thought this game was fairly well done in respect to the original. The basic concept remained the same, (I'm in a mall-like structure, I need to save people, and gradually uncover what's going on) and the gore was maintained.

Yet, I couldn't help but get slightly bored after using many of the new weapons. Yes they're creative and effective, but killing zombies is killing zombies. After killing enough in order to get the Zombie Genocider achievement, it became monotonous when plowing through zombies.

Although this is just my opinion.

Overall the game is quite good, and has a fairly intriguing story to figure out.

I'd say this is a definite buy for newcomers to the game, and a sure-rent for veterans.

Blog Post: Much Improved and Bloody As Ever

Dead Rising 2 once again proves it is king of zombie death. With so many undead on the screen at once and so much blood on the floor, Dead Rising 2 is tons of fun.

Graphics: The graphics are not that bad in this game. Some of the areas are not that detailed but the core of the game looks great, especially with so much going on at once.

Sound: Other than the sound of zombies being shot, stabbed, or split in two, the sound effects are very good. Listening to the snarling and grunting of the zombies makes them feel more real. This also makes the game have a more creepy feel. The zombies also sound very real as they take a bite out of your shoulder and also when they are being slaughtered. Other than the mass carnage of zombies the calming hallway music sets a much nicer and more inviting scene. Both work well together, especially when coming out of a pile of zombies only to hear smooth jazz.

Gameplay: The gameplay and story line are almost identical to the first one. It involves waiting out for 72 hours until help arrives and meanwhile you roam the mall looking for survivors and beating limbs of the undead. It may seem like it gets repetitive but it really doesn't. Dead Rising 2 also allows you to create new weapons by combining two together. Just about any two weapons can be combined. Anything as simple as putting nails in a baseball bat to putting machetes on the propellers of a toy helicopter.

Story: The story actually is pretty decent for a zombie game. The way you play the story also decides the ending. There are several endings to the game, such as keeping your daughter alive, finding out what really happened, or just running around letting everyone die as you kill mass numbers of zombies.

Cons: Dead Rising 2 has its problems, however. The biggest problem that is extremely annoying is the saving. Now, the problem isn't so much a game error as it is a user error, but the save spots are spread out way too much. There also is no auto-save. It would have been nice to see that. Another thing is the friendly A.I. They are better than they were in the first, but still don't act very real. When you go from mall to mall they stay behind, making you go back and find them. These are the two biggest cons, there are some others (load times) but they are not much of a problem.

Dead Rising 2 is great fun. It would have been nice to see it a little more cleaned up, but it doesn't make a difference. Playing online with several other people can provide endless amounts of fun and chaos. The gameplay works great and the game all around is a solid buy as it will have you wanting to come back for more and more zombie flesh. Overall I give this game a 9.25/10.

Blog Post: Kill zombies. I personally believe that everyone needs a little zombie action now and then, and DR2 delivered that perfectly. From creating weapons out of almost nothing and using them to kill hundreds of thousands of zombies, to an immense plot that takes you around every corner searching for something to save your life. There are surely more positives then negatives for DR2, but negatives none the less.

Negative wise, there was not much as I said. But some of the issues that I had were the guns not being powerful. Think of a zombie apocalypse in real life happening. Would you run around with a spiked baseball bat instead of a gun from long range? Of course, they had to do something like that because who wants to play a game that is the same old shoot and run stuff. I think they perfected the melee system, and kind of forgot about the guns. The biggest deciding factor of the game--everything was on a time limit. This took a lot of fun out it for me at first, but I eventually got used to it. For most of my friends though they wished for a zombie game that you just go around and kill zombies all day long without being pressured into fetching zombrex or saving survivors.

In the area of positives, I loved the option to create weapons. I mean who doesn't love pushing a zombie around in an electrified wheel chair? No one. Thats who. The plot of the game was nothing less than amazing. Apart from all the zombie killing, you uncover a huge conspiracy while trying to find out who framed you. I love it! Overall, I thought it was a fantastic game and anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of playing it definitely should.

Blog Post: Capcom's Deadrising 2 is worth every penny.

Deadrising 2 is just fantastic. It is fun, gory, got some humor, and multiplayer. Multiplayer adds a very unique way of killing zombies, although I've never played online. Solve the cases together on co-op or compete for prize money on the multiplayer mode: Terror Is Reality! (TV show, btw) The story is great and very detailed.

This is Capcom at it's best! Loads of zombies to kill, with your own combination of weapons. Example: Nails+Propane Tank= I.E.D., Bat+Nails=Spiked Bat, and my personal favorite, Sledge Hammer+Fire Axe=The Defiler. So much to do in this game, it's literally alot. Bottom line: If you like to kill zombies, get DR2 You won't regret it.

Blog Post: The Good vs Bad when it comes down to Dead Rising 2

Zombie games these days seem to be lacking a lot of substance. Some are boring, while others are really boring and then over time you realize that it's about time we follow the Resident Evil way and kill off zombies in general. It's no fun killing a slow and mentally drained enemy right? Wrong. From what I have experience from Dead Rising 2, I think that more games should follow this example and make these slow and mentally drained enemies more fun to kill! But how does a zombie game with real zombies in it actually score when it comes down to gaming basics? Find out by reading on in my Good vs Bad review.

The Good:

+ Graphics: Being one who has played the first Dead Rising, I must say that there has been a huge improve in graphic design over the last couple years. In Dead Rising 2, the graphics come close to those of Capcom's previous 'zombie' game, Resident Evil 5. From the Malls to the Vegas Strip, the graphics are well toned, but shiny and well set with the lighting. There are also more zombie models in this game than the previous one, so there will be a lot less of you seeing double when killing off the infected.

+ Sound: There are so many different unique sounds in this game it may often feel as if you were in the game itself. Be it shopping in the mall full of zombies, or maybe even trying to enjoy some Italian delights in the food court. The music for the psychopaths (which are the bosses in this game for those who are new) is also very interesting this time around. Sure, they are mostly metal songs but if you listen to the words you will notice that what's being said contributes to each psychopath and matches the battle perfectly. The weapons in the game also have their own sounds, as opposed to hearing the same sound repeatedly with each attack.

+ Controls: At first I was a bit skeptical about how a Dead Rising game would work on the PS3 because I was so use to the 360 version, but as usual, the game has found a way to make the controls simple and easy to use for all gamers without the need of changing buttons around.

+ Replay Value: Dead Rising 2 may be one of those games that you go back to time and time again just to kill zombies in just for the fact that there are so many ways to do it thanks to the new addition to the Dead Rising series known as combo weapons. With over 50 combo weapons to make and well over 100 normal weapons to use, there is nothing but good times to go around. There are also many different survivors and psychopaths to encounter during your playthroughs as well depending on what you have already done.

+ Difficulty: Dead Rising 2 is a game that focuses more on common sense and the will to play as opposed to how much skill you have, which makes its difficulty vary depending on who plays it. Some will be good at the game, while others will be bad at it, it all depends on how a person thinks when dealing with a city full of infected beings.

+ Glitches/Other: Luckily this game doesn't suffer from any glitches, and if there are any I haven't experienced them yet.

Overall this game is amazing for anyone looking for a good time and is a must buy if you don't mind zombie games. Dead Rising 2 gets a well deserved 9.5 out of 10. For more of my reviews, look me up on GameInformer.com, IGN.com, and Gamespot.com or just follow me on twitter /thatSTERLINkid.

Blog Post: If you haven't played this, you should

my title says it all. This was a fantastic game. It kept me interested. It was fun. It had a good enough story. Plenty of weapons, and was highly re playable. So many zombies to kill, so many ways to do it. My favorite was putting masks on a bunch of zombies, creating a propane tank bomb, attaching it to one of the zombies, stepping away, and blowing them all up in a gory mess. There are a lot of games out there I know, but if you want to get distracted for awhile from any of them with a game that will keep bringing you back, this is the one to get.

Blog Post: Dead Rising 2: Game Review

Let There Be Zombies

Not really sure where to start this one, I had never planned to write a review about this game and that is one of the main reasons why it's so "late" coming. I try to have a review written and posted within a week or two after the game comes out but real life has a way of slowing that down. A friend of mine suggested that I should review this game and after thinking about it I decided to oblige him so here we go....Dead Rising 2 is in most ways a typical Capcom game. For those of you who are fans of their Resident Evil series then you know that they have been in the zombie bussiness for some time now. Capcom like any company has a formula to how they create games and to how those games play to us the gamer.

Game Interface

This game is A LOT of fun and I enjoyed it greatly even though it is a slightly long game. You are in the shoes of Chuck Greene as you make your way through this zombie infested adventure. Your one main mission is to keep Chuck's daughter Katie alive by making sure she receives her daily dose of Zombrex every 24 hours. This in itself seems easy enough however, with loads of side missions, great combo weapons to make, insane clothing items to change into and the endless hordes of zombies in your path you are easily distracted from your main objective. No need to fret though, as each case/mission has a set time limit to it and must be completed during the time it is available or else it's gone forever or at least until you reload from your last save point. Saving is one thing I recommend you should do often in this game so don't be afraid to visit a restroom every now and then. Time is an important detail in Chuck's world as you find yourself constantly checking his watch in order to plan your attack for the missions you choose to complete. I found the wristwatch to be a very helpful tool throughout this game as well as the case/mission interface used in the game. It's simple but gets the job done with little confusion. Another tool you will be using throughout the game is the map and arrow navigation tool; but I did find that on occasion the arrow was kind of fickle and would lead me a little of my charted path. Even with little hiccups like that which do happen throughout the game, the fun and experience created by Dead Rising 2 is not lost or hinder because of them.

Zombies For Days

Dead Rising 2 is all about Zombies and in Fortune City there are tons and tons of them. This game is filled with more zombies than I have ever seen in any one game and because of this there are many pros and cons. The amount of zombies that filtrate this game is unmatched. Around every corner, in every room and behind every door you will find them lurking waiting for Chuck to slowly jog past. The zombies are pretty well made, they are forever manifesting, and seem to be able to pick up a burst of speed at an calculated time. The graphics in this game suffer from them as rendering hordes of zombies clearly takes its toll on the aesthetics of this game. Graphics are sometimes blocking and ridged. The frame rate is often slow and sometimes it seems as if you are moving in slow motion, but again its because of the zombies. I love that there are so many of them but I do wish that these zombies regenerated at a certain pace. After running through the same area a few times and taking out hundreds of zombies I feel that area should be somewhat clear, just a few less zombies in this area for a certain period of time. This way the frame rate wont be as affected and the graphics would pick up as well. I also wish that Chuck could run, with this many zombies around, there is no way in hell we shouldn't have a run button or at least a speed burst. The zombies themselves seem to have a way of becoming mini track stars as they perform a burst of speed and grab your neck as you slowly jog past them. This can become very annoying as you are sometimes not eve close to them and yet they are given a chance to zap some of your health away. Like I said this game has many hiccups and there still a lot that can be done to enhance the gameplay so maybe they will work out more bugs with the next installment of Dead Rising.

Got Chuck?

Even with my minor complaints, this game is a good one. It's fun, and the story is actually really good. You truly become invested in Chuck's mission to clear his name and keep his little girl Katie alive. The one really great thing about this game are the combo weapons and all the interesting things Chuck can make with a little duct tape. Some of the amazing combo weapons are the classic spiked bat, boomstick, paddlesaw, electric chair, knife gloves and flamethrower. These combo weapons are very useful as they help you level up faster and they seem to not break as fast...giving you more zombies kills for your buck. Leveling up is not too hard to do but it is somewhat of an uphill battle until your around level 12 or so. The new multi-player co-op adds some spice to the game as it is basically the host gamer's storyline with an identical Chuck helping you fight your way through this Zombie overruned city. This can actually be fun and helpful as some of the boss fights can be long and again annoying so a helping hand is always welcomed. There are many facets to this game that makes it well worth a play through and for those of you who are unsure, renting would be the way to go at first. I would say that if you love zombies, killing, action, slow jogging, and just a fun time then this is certainly a game you should play and maybe even think about buying.

Blog Post: PLAYED DEMO GRAET GAME

HOPE I GET REAL GAME

Blog Post: Dead Rising 2, A Freeplay Storyline

This Is possibly the best zombie game of the decade.

When I first played dead rising 2 I fell in love. It is an amazingly layed out openspace/freeplay with a strong storyline to it. It is so fun and gratifying to for example find a big clump of zombies and send in a heliblade. I was suprised that the zombiekilling franchise could go from l4d to the Deadrising games so quickly.

In the game you play badass former motocross champion Chuck Greene, and while chuck is likable enough, he's willing to become a rock of zombiekilling to attempt to save his daughter who has been bitten. And to do so, he has to kill his way to all sorts of places to find an expensibe "Zombrex" drug to keep her from eating her father, and he has to go to great lengths to attain it.

In my opinion, the two most entertaining parts of the game is 1. riding all over the place on your motercycle, plowing through the zombies, and 2. after the turning point of the train scene, where you lose your ride, grabing some duct tape and seeing what deathly contrations you can make. Speaking of which, some of my favorites are, the electric chair, just because it's satysfying to pick one up and give the others a shock, the heliblade, because it draws them away and does all the work, and the snowball cannon. Maybe that one is just my sense of humor.

Overall, i'd have to say this game suprised me. I was expecting another dead rising 1, but with the new maps, characters, abilities for instance, the ability to customize your character, weapons, and a better storyline, I say that this game has exceded expectations. And it has left me begging for a third, because I think the apocolypse has more stories to tell.

Blog Post: Yes We Can

PLAYED THIS AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE AND I GOT TO HAVE IT I GOT PART ONE BUT THIS IS NEXT LEVEL *** AND I NEED 2 GET MY HANDS ON IT ASAP GRAB IT UP PEOPLE

File: Dead Rising 2 - Soldier of Fortune DLC

Chuck goes commando with this new Dead Rising 2 DLC.

Blog Post: Great game!!

This was a fun game, and highly recommended.. The only complaint I have is that you have to be looking RIGHT at a weapon to use it, which can lead to some frustration when you are about to be eaten by zombies.

The story is very good, especially with the lack of story in most zombie games (although valve has done a very good job with fleshing out Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 lately.). You can really make a connection to the characters, they're realistic and believable. You can understand Chuck's anger at being framed, and his love for his daughter.

Combining weapons is amazing. There are many fun combinations to choose from, and almost all of them allow you to tear through zombies with ease. My first objective going into the game was "aquire a gun", but even after I got my first pistol, I quickly abandoned firearms as anything but a last ditch effort after I crafted my first weapon. Using weapons also allows you to level up much more quickly. The leveling system is very good, with Chuck gaining more weapon cards, health, and inventory slots as he progresses.

Online Co-op is very useful, because you can have someone help you out if you're stuck in a particular spot in the story, and you can jump into someone else's co-op game to just kill some zombies and help them out a bit, while not having to worry about your own story, and you can even save your character progress, making it easier to level up.

My biggest, and ONLY complaint about this game, is the lack of a free-roam mode. I never played the first game, but I know it at least had a survival mode. Time is scarce in Dead Rising 2, making co-op mode necessary to enjoy slaughtering zombies at your leisure. Dead Rising 2 is completely focused on time, from everything to the story missions, to just saving survivors. There isn't even a survival mode, like the first one. I enjoyed saving the survivors, and I hoped that a free-roam mode would let me save all of them, and still not have to worry about time, and even without survivors, a free-roam mode would have allowed me to completely enjoy the game. I hope a piece of downloadable content with this option will come out soon, because I really want it.

Overall, Dead Rising 2 is an incredibly polished, fun to play game, and despite it's lack of free-roam mode, It's worth playing.

Blog Post: AWSOME

the first one was great and i am planning to get the second one

Blog Post: mine

I dont have a rating for this game cus ive neverplayed it, but it looks awsome
