Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate Announced For PS3 And 360

The long standing tradition of releasing an updated version of a fighting game around a year later continues with Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja's latest, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.

Headed to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall, Ultimate incorporates the new features of March's Dead or Alive 5 Plus on Vita and new stages and fighters. The first announced new character is Momiji (seen above on the right). While she hasn't appeared in the DOA series before, Ninja Gaiden fans will be plenty familiar with her. No pricing information is available yet, but we'd be surprised if cost the full $60 for an update of an older game.

Check out the screens and trailer below to see Ultimate in action.

  • I love kasumi because of the face muncher move. (That's what I call it)

  • Maybe this version won't be as abysmally devastating to expectations, now that we've taken and sustained the blows dealt by V?

  • I'm glad I missed the game the first time around because now I can just buy this version. I liked DOA4 when the 360 came out so I was kind of interested to play the follow up.

  • I've heard a lot of good things about DoA. I might get this eventually.

  • I'm a fighter...

  • Im playing it now, It better have something more than one character to justify a another edition. bringing leon and Raidou back with more stages in addition, soundtracks of previous doa titles. and more vf characters leifei , kage , aoi and eileen then ill pick it up. and customization cant hurt.

  • This is the problem with so many fighting games' releases at launch: just wait six months and you'll have all the DLC and bonus content for free. Not a DoA fan, but really nice for fans who've held out this long.
  • There's nothing more fun than to play with a hot chick!!!

  • This re-release remix BS again? I hate that about fighters.
  • Momiji looks pretty cool, just include all previous DLC, new stages, characters, and better online(just to name a few) . However, I'll wait til GI reviews it. Hopefully it scores better than a "6".

  • D'awwww...come on Tecmo! Release this for the Wii U...D: Please????? U.U I'm sick of this ***. Every high profile game (even though this one kinda wasn't one) should be getting released on Nintendo's new console. I don't get it. I spent a lot of money on this thing and it's plenty nifty and capable. So what gives??? I've already moved on from the PS3 and 360. I don't wanna have to drag them back out to play this game when I have a new system sitting in front of me. This isn't how this is supposed to work...right? :(
  • well this sucks as a fan i know the temptation is there to buy it especially if they have more female characters. (yes i like to ogle) Anyway i really hope this doesn't become a habit for gaming studios.
  • I can't believe people play DOA when there are good fighters to play.
