Most of the recent announcements for Dead or Alive have been to confirm old characters reappearing. Mila is brand new to the series, and she's a waitress/MMA fighter. Only one of her professional skills will be used in Dead or Alive 5.

Along with Mila's announcement comes a new stage, where you can derail a train in the interest of defeating your opponent. That train may also fall on top of you so look out. Check out the trailer below to see Mila dressed as Alan Wake from Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

    I was debating on this or Tekken tag but this trailer sold me on DoA5. The environment being interactive like that is awesome.

    That is the most intense show of sparring I've ever seen.  I'm never sparring with either of those two women ever.

    She looks cool, and amongst DOA's girls, seems pretty realistic. Cute, with a normal bust and non-gigantic eyes. Wears normal clothes too. But, what, pray tell, makes her an MMA? Looking at her animations/fight style, she seems cobbled together from random animations from the other girls. There's not a lot "MMA" about her fighting style.

    Sure, I saw a spinning backhand fist, and her throw involves taking someone "down to the mat" and punching them a lot, but that seems to be it. She doesn't stick her hands out to gauge distance, or shake hands before a round (would've been a nice touch), she doesn't protect her head, she doesn't "lock up" anyone's head to knee them in the stomach, there's no superman punches... it's like Team Ninja didn't watch a single MMA match. I don't even watch a lot of UFC - not since it disappeared from Spike and went to FX - and I'm noticing a whole lot that's missing here. It wouldn't kill them to watch George St. Pierre wreck someone, y'know? The guys at United Front worked with him on Sleeping Dogs - he's clearly cool with working on video games.

    I'm a little disappointed. An MMA fighter would be a great addition to any fighting game roster, especially since current UFC talent are all so well-rounded. They have to be good at staying on their feet, fighting close up, and mixing it up on the mat all at once if they want to be competitive with the best of the best. But Mila here, she just looks like more of the same, as far as DOA goes.
