  • Okay the game is absolutely great, seamless combat setup, awesome execution moves, and a relatively good storyline. But like many reviews say, its Zelda and GOW come together. The dungeons are somewhat monotonous after all the Zelda games, traverse, find an item that finishes a puzzle and use so said item to kill the final boss. Dark as it may be it was a great play with very few minor glitchs that happen to a very few. But for the $55 dollars needed to dish out on this game, i would recommend waiting for Dante's Inferno, with much better graphics and from what I've played on the demo it is much better gameplay.

  • i have to agree GOW  wrote the book darksiders even though it a good solid game worth playing  it isnt anything new really, except for a few things that almost seem to cry out (see we not like GOW) half ass attemts for the most part in my opinion if your in the market though wait for GOW 3

  • Of course it feels super similar to GoW I think Darksiders look and feel is super different however. The obvious time frame and character design seperates the two games. Glad Darksiders can hold me over until Dante's Inferno and GoW3.

  • Darksiders was a very enjoyable fun game to play the elements incorporated from Zelda and God Of War is so clear it was really surprising to me that I saw a skull were the boss was in the first dungeon! I was thinking to my self ( I can't believe they did that!) The adventure is fun despite the plot bouncing around like a kid that just eat 10 candy bars. Its somewhat confusing but once you start swinging your sword you really don't care why War is killing demons because it is fun! The combat is fun but nothing to get too excited about because we have all seen this before  X X X X X. Yet War can pull off a very satisfying visual kill after beating up an enemy for a while once you see the giant B button hovering over the enemy's head like it had a new idea . That was useful the first time I used it, but half way through the game I was looking through the settings for some way to turn it off!! It was also quite disappointing after killing an enemy over and over again you saw the same visually kill move! How boring it would have been so much nicer to see War slice his enemy's in new different ways then just one for each enemy as well as adding different kill movies for the weapons that you acquired. Not that any of the weapons you gain in the game really made that much of a difference the sword did the job from start to finish. The game dose incorporate  some interesting game play into the puzzles such as a portal gun! This made the puzzles really fun and interesting! Overall its definitely worth a play through and the game left me really interested in the squeal. I recommend renting it because I don't know if its really worth 60$.

  • I've really enjoyed playing Darksiders. Unlike me, I saw the game on the shelf, not realizing what it was about, I moved overseas and hadn't been keeping up with my gaming info, I thought "well that game just looks awsome" and so I decided to buy it not knowing what I was getting myself into, $60 later.. I enjoyed every minute of it! Like some have posted, yes it has the feel of GoW, but I love GoW, so this game is just as awsome, and plue its keeping me busy till GoW3 & Dante's Inferno come out! 9 out of 10 for me!

  • I enjoyed the game but of course I had a few issues. For starters I thought that your sword leveled up faster than any other weapon, which made it awkward to try to keep on using them. Also the wall traversing was unresponsive in the way that I ended up circling the joy stick all the way around just to figure out what direction was needed to get across. And finally enemy regeneration seemed lesser than I expected, I mean it's the apocalypse demons should be a foot around every corner. Other than that though this is a solid game if you're into certain afore mentioned titles, but I can't wait till hell really breaks loose in Dante's Inferno.

  • Have not played through whole thing, but what i have done so far is alot of fun. I kinda feel like a badass when playing as War. Its been a while since Ive felt that way with a character.

  • An SMB Review

Angels, demons, and everything in between, have come together in Darksiders, a multiplatform, action-adventure game, in which you play as War, one of the four horsemen of the apocolypse, in which you guessed it, a post apocolyptic world. The game isn't horrible but believe me it does have it's flaws. The game takes many of it's influences from games MUCH better than itself and makes them less fun. If you've played Portal then you know that the portal gun was the most fun part of the game, now imagine that fun reduced, a lot. The game in itself loses points for originality again for copying magic and other abilities gameplay elements, and even story concept itself, from God Of War. The camera angles aren't horrible but they aren't great either sometimes crippling rather than helping you when you need it most. Simply said this game is an overglorified God Of War clone and if had come out at a different time may have sold more, but when the game you stole and then ruined all the elements of is coming out in a few mere months, it's better just to wait it out.

    THIS GAME GETS A

    3 out of 5

  • Darksiders is an overall FUN game.  I've really enjoyed playing it and I think the graphics are extremely clear on the PS3.  I think the creatures in the game are very detailed and creative.  It's not God Of War but it's got an awesome story line and great action and it will definitely satisfy you until God of War hits the shelves. It is a very well made game. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars!

  • bought this from my friend for $20. I want it back.

War is like gambling: someones gonna pay!

  • Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of the artist for this game. I had huge hopes for a fun action adventure game with nods to other game franchises I enjoyed. There, that's out of the way. This game is a pretty mess of poor controls and blatant theft. Portal, Zelda and God of War are all great in their own rights. This game is a jumbled mess of poorly implemented concepts. Concepts that are better utilized in the games they're taken from. The enemy lock on rarely works, if at all. Jumping and platforming should not nearly be as unresponsive as it is. Blocking? What blocking? Remember I said something about unresponsive controls? Apply that to everything that requires a button press. Everything but perhaps the gun, sword and scythe weapons. I had a problem with the x axis always being on and had to change it each time I started the game up again. The in-game "hint" feature is useless. There were times where I needed a nudge in the right direction and all you get is some smarmy garbage from whatever your companions name is. The game teaches you its rules for boss encounters in mini boss sort of encounters and then breaks them later. That is counter intuitive and shoddy game mechanics. When I first came across the finishers, I had thought I'd see at least a couple different ones for each enemy type. Nope, you get one each. The zombies get two. I bought this game for around $20 and I'm glad I only paid what I did. I cannot believe the high scores this game has received. I will say that I enjoyed the art style, voice acting and the majority of the areas you visit. There's just so much dragging this game down for me to truly enjoy it though.

P.S. Loading in mid-fall or fight? Yeah that happens too. I put this game down too many times in frustration. It's worth the $20 or less. More than that and you're wasting your money.
