Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls
Today at its annual press event, NIS America revealed that Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls will release on PlayStation Vita, both physically and digitally, this fall.
Danganronpa Another Episode bridges the events between the first entry, Trigger Happy Havoc, and its sequel, Goodbye Despair. However, this entry ditches its predecessors' visual novel gameplay in favor of a third-person shooter, where you use the Future Foundation's hacking gun to defeat mobs of evil Monokumas. You have access to various ammo types such as paralyze and truth bullets, and can upgrade your firepower. The game won't just be focused on shooting though; the journey will also challenge you to solve various riddles and puzzles.
Players control two different characters with connections to Happy Trigger Havoc: Toko Fukawa and Komaru Nagei. Toko was in the Happy Trigger Havoc and Komaru is the little sister of its lead, Makoto. In Another Episode, the two leading ladies team up to navigate the dangerous and despair-filled city of Towa. The Monokumas flooding the city are part of a sadistic leader's master plan to create a Children's Paradise free from adults. Toko and Kamaru will have to survive his torturous army if they want to escape, but thankfully, they'll run into a new of familiar faces.
