Handheld Castlevanias had been better than console titles until Lords of Shadow came around. Now with the 3DS' Mirror of Fate, we can get that LoS style gameplay on the go. The story is told in a slightly strange order but is a good story nonetheless.  The controls are basically the same as LoS but toned to fit the 3DS system, Combat is pretty fluid with only a few minor gripes, such as the blocking. I found it a little hard to block an incoming attack when you're already laying a beating on another enemy. My biggest complaint with the game was the fall damage. Falling from too high a height would either hurt you immensely you downright end your life but due to the generous checkpoint system death isn't too much of an issue.
