While Wii is certainly the worst platform to play this game on, it is still very fun. Graphics are the biggest downgrade. Basically, it looks like you are playing a PS2 game. While the control scheme takes a couple of hours to get used to, it works very well once you get the hang of it. I recommend putting the control scheme on the "n00b" setting, at least until you figure things out. The campaign is just as epic, and the multiplayer is almost as good as the original (only 10 players max and no voice chat). Having played both the 360 and Wii versions extensively, I think my opinion carries some weight.

1,164,317

the graphics are terrible, if activision was willing to invest in a radically different engine, and completely redesign the game specifically for the wii, then instead of a 55 million dollar sales figure with 1.4 million units sold in the first 20 weeks, they'd be looking at 100+ million dollars sales and a franchise that could easily overpower Mario Galaxy on the charts, and define hardcore fps on the wii. All it would take is a "wii-only" engine.

Sadly, Activision's love of money is not great enough for this. They should really look back on all of Nintendo's bad decisions and consider that there is, in fact, a gaping void in the Wii's fps library, currently occupied by indie developers and pathetic ports. If I were heading a game developer, I'd be ripping into the Wii fps void like a mad dog.

WHAT! The games are fun for parties but forget playing alone. Seriously, who plays Wii Sports alone? But that's not the point, the point is that Modern warfare:Reflex on the Wii was a big mistake. nintendo must of known that most teenagers don't really enjoy the Wii and decided, "Hey! Let's make MOD on the Wii for the teenagers!" I just laugh at this decision. If you really want to play MOD do it on the Xbox, not the Wii. Okay so the story in the game is like any other story in MOD games so not much originality. Most players of MOD also may hate the graphics of this game. They have the same feel, but the're almost bllured looking. And the real problem of this game comes down to the controls. It's got to be one of the hardest games to play on the Wii. The controls are delade and if you accidentally drop the Wii controler just a few inches the screen moves around like a kid with a seizure! The missions are preety easy and if your an expierenced MOD player this game will be a sinch for you to beat. So there you go! That's my review of one the worst marketing decisions for Nintendo.

THERE MAY BE HOPE AFTER ALL

AFTER I TRIED THIS GAME IT SUPRISED ME NO NO NO NOT THE GRAPHICS THE OVERALL GAMEPLAY THE ONLINE PLAY WAS VERY FUN JUST AS PS3/XBOX 360 GRAPHICS WERE DISAPOINNTEING BUT STILL FUN

A superior campaign comes with lesser multiplayer- CoD 4 Reflex

If you are a Wii-only owner and do not have this game listen closely: 1. Get in your car/ have your parent drive you to the nearest video game retailer 2. Purchase this game 3. Return home and play the single and multiplayer modes your 360 and PS3 friends have been making fun of you for not being able to play 4. Go tell said friends you now have CoD 4 and then get mocked for not having MW2.

Story: 8/10 As SAS operative "Soap" MacTavish and Marine Paul Jackson you fight against the villains Khaled Al-Asad, new Middle Eastern ruler, and Imran Zakhaev, Russian "Ultranationalists." Al-Asad and Zakhaev stage a coup deat against "Insert Middle-Eastern country name here." The story itself is well-written and engrossing but suffers from horribly underdeveloped characters, MacTavish and Jackson are completely silent, as is CoD tradition, meaning they having absolutley no personality and I did not care one bit for either of them. Captain Price is the opposite. He is the only hero who leaves an impression due to his somewhat developed backstory and personaltiy and kickass voice. All other companions were bland and mundane, they might as well have been ally #1, 2, 3, etc. The villain Zakhaev is similar into Price in the fact that thought has been put into his history and character. Al-Asad, on the other hand, is simply a generic placeholder until Zakhaev steps into the spotlight. Yet, with only two characters that qualify as compelling, the general plotline is filed with breathtaking moments and a twisting espionage plotline. If you've managed to avoid spoilers to this game then learn through gameplay, not a Wikipedia page.

Presentation: 8/10 The graphics are rather good for a Wii game. The thing is that in the more intense moments of campaign and multiplayer the framerate can get very choppy. The sound effects and voice acting are simply astounding, As mentioned before Price's voice actor is especially fantastic.

Control: 9/10 Believe it or not, the minor control problem has nothing to do with motion control, which works surprisingly well, its all about button layout. It's awkward to jump and sprint in this game. The shooting control is incredibly fluent, it never felt gimmicky. The gun tilting is amusing but has no gameplay effect. Though there are several sections where it is possible to use a control stick instead, which is preferable in those situations (the AC 130 section for example.) The aiming is every bit as good as it is on 360 and PS3. Well, at least in the campaign

Campaign: 10/10 Defending a tank, the AC 130 gunner, the ghille suit flashback, the finale, and the post-credits mission. This is a perfect single player mode defined by dramatic setpieces and insanely fun missions. It is superior to the original CoD4's campaign beyond a shadow of a doubt. While it retains the same length it is short but sweet lasting 7-10 hours depending upon skill and difficulty chosen. The reflex edition does eliminate CoD4's biggest flaw, infinitely spawning enemies. You can now strategically eliminate every enemy before moving on to the next area. It makes it much funner and truly (and fairly) challenging. Its a blast.

Multiplayer: 8/10 With the improved single-player comes a so-so multiplayer. While it does have some ups, it uses a solid connection. You should have as much disconnection worry as you would on another console. If there is lag the graphics are more to blame than your connection. The problems are:

-The game comes with every original map, yet none of the add-on maps are. These won't be coming.

-No more killcam

-Mixed Blessing no voice chat, no strategizing but no annoying kids shouting S*** and F*** when they die/kill you (Seriously these annoying brats give the average kid gamer like me a bad name)

It is still addictive and fun, but its not the multiplayer that made this franchise famous.

Overall: You probably don't need to read this review as you already likely own the game on one platform or another. If you don't have the game but have access to both a Wii and a 360/PS3 I recommend:

-Wii if you like a more the control scheme, are fine with weaker graphics, and are a single player lover.

-360/PS3 if you prefer more conventional controls, better graphics, and care more for the online experience.

The replay value of this game is high, however the game falls flat in controlling your character. Eventually, you will adapt to the wildy active version of Call Of Duty, however it may take some time to finally control the game smoothly. like every other CoD game for all systems. The only thing that really brings down the game is how the controls are tricky to get used to and MAYBE the graphics. But still, the controls are completely customizable, and I got used to them withing half-an-hour. For the graphics, I think they are good enough. The thing is, you can't look at it from a 360/PS3's perspective, but from a Wii players perspective. This game is a much better game than the previous title (World at War), but Treyarch is trying their best for a system that was never given a chance by FPS publishers

HEY HEY

By my most consideration the wii is trying give ita break.
The framerate drops only occasionally happen in single player--towards the last mission, but it's not enough to be unable to complete the mission, nor is it gamebreaking. Online mode is smooth as ever though, and is the actual meat and potatoes of the game--like it should be.

And yes, the controls of this game, is a double edged sword. Very customizable, but for the people who hardly ever play Wii FPS games, it can get frustrating. But once you get it down to your liking, it's absolutely great! There is NOTHING wrong with the controls, other than finding the perfect fit for you.. Which can take anywhere from 15 minutes to hours. The only complaint I have about the controls is finding the perfect fit for sniping, as it is harder to do so than WaW Wii, due to added sway in this game, as well as Treyarch introducing "Precision aiming" to this game--which is imitating the sensitivity of a mouse on a computer.

As for the visuals? Sure it may not look like Metroid Prime Corruption or Resident Evil: Dark Side Chronicles, but you have to keep in mind that this game has a lot of things happening at once. Not just in single player, but multiplayer as well. They have to keep good graphics--while keeping online mode as smooth as they can. And this game looks definitely better than WAW Wii, and overall of one of the best looking Wii games period.

And for the haters who don't even OWN a Wii or never played a Wii FPS in their lives.. What about the visuals that makes it in between a 64 and a dreamcast??

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/console-comparison-modern-warfare/59229

Even people who dont' even OWN a Wii on gametrailers, says this game looks good!

Overall, this game has 95% of content in tact from the 360/PS3/PC versions that were released 2 years ago. The only things this game doesn't have over the PS3/360/PC versions are Wii speak, split screen multiplayer, kill cam, ground war playlist, and the 4 DLC maps.2 out of 5 of these reasons are due to limitations of Wii's hardware (wii speak and kill cam) anyway, so it's not too much of a big deal.

Other than that.. this game has all the original 16 maps, all the modes (minus Groundwar), all the challenges, weapons, perks, level up online system.. and exactly the SAME online level up system overall. If you've owned WaW Wii, it's better in just about every single way.

If you only own a Wii, and you are interested in FPS for the wii, consider getting this game! Don't listen to idiots like Snake who don't even have this game.. And which ever GameInformer staff who reviewed this game--is incredibly biased towards 360/PS3 systems. For one, how can he say the Wii is horrible for FPS gaming, when the rest of the critics (including a DIFFERENT critic staff on gameinformer)) disagree with him about Metroid Prime Corruption and Trilogy??

AVG scores from metacritic:

Secondly, we all know that Nintendo has a thing for either not porting games, or for porting games at a later date, as with Reflex. Now, if we take a look at the Wii and the game itself, this has come a long way from COD: WaW. Reflex has greatly improved on the minor defects of WaW and the graphics are also much improved from WaW considering the Wii's capabilities. Many people have complained about the control scheme, but us Wii/Nintendo fans are already used to them and we can handle the remote. I could just as easily complain about the 360's controls being hard to use if I am not used to playing the system, which I am not. Nonetheless, until Nintendo's next next gen console (hopefully with HD) comes around, Reflex is definitely a must have.
