It does hurt your hand after a while. It has good replay value because of its online. It is hard to matchmake though.

Enough said, if your going on a vacation and you can't bring any console, Bring your DS for this game.

Blog Post: Modern Bumber

Nick B. I don't believe it has the following of Metroid Prime Hunters or Resistance: Retribution, but it's very solid.

Graphics [8/10]

World at War was one of the best technical achievements on the DS. Mobilized tops it in every way, shape, and form. Who knew that you could have a DS FPS that looks better than 5th generation graphics?

Unfortunately, before a truely awesome-looking Modern Warfare experience comes our way, some things need smoothed out. Occasionally I'll try to snipe someone from long-distance, but it's too hard. I know this may be because of the small screen, but I would love it if there were some sort of "zoom in" option. Then again, it would be very cheap.

Sound [9/10]

The best part of any Co DS game is the sound. I never knew that my DS could pump out these awesome tunes. Or the nice gun noises. Or the large amount of voicework. I don't see this getting much better.

Gameplay [7.5/10]

A slight slower and easier single-player campaign would be nice. Though I must give props to the variety. Remember: this is a completely different game from Modern Warfare 2. It's designed with the DS in mind. Too bad that it could've been design better. A reasonably enjoyable experience, with some frustraions along the way. Gah... RC stealth mission...

Multiplayer [8.5/10]

Better than Hunters. Yes, I said it. Mobilized allows for many diferent types of solo and team matches. Oh, it's six-player, not four-player. Ya know, so we can actually have semi-decent teams? While perks are gone, you do get new weapons one you enough kills.

I highly reccomend you play this with friends only. You'll thank me later.

Controls [7.5/10]

I like the DS FPS controls more than most people. My hands have become uncrampable after all the hours I spent with Hunters, Dementium, and Moon. But I don't see other gamers having all-nighters of Mobilized... if they know what's good fot their hands. You hold the DS with your off hand, aim with the stylus in your strong hand. Holding the DS with one hand isn't exactly comfortable, of course.

Replay Value [8/10]

I don't think anybody would go through the campaign more than more than once. It's hard. But if you can find some buddies, Mobilized will last you until the enevitable Mobilized 2 comes out (I can read Activision's mind.

OVERALL [8/10]

Verdict: Holding it to console standards is a waste of time. Holding it to handheld standards makes Mobilized a must-have DS game for fans of the FPS genre.

Blog Post: Portable Modern Warfare’s Best Is Still Not Enough

If you’re a Modern Warfare nut and will be away from your console for a weekend, n-Space’s Mobilized is your only option for a Call of Duty fix. Playing as U.S. and British forces, you’ll fight through a unique campaign not found in the console versions. The core shooting experience is peppered with turret sequences, air strikes, tank runs, decrypting minigames, Javelin missile blasts, boat rides, and satellite targeting. With the notable exception of the terrible stealth RC robot sections, these entertaining breaks provide a nice variety of gameplay.[Excerpt]

The primary shooting mechanic, however, has problems. Key COD features like ironsights and crouching require clunky double taps to account for button limitations. I wish they just canned the ironsights altogether and made shots from the hip more accurate so you wouldn’t have to deal with the workarounds. Your character has less health than the console soldiers as well, so dying comes quickly. Mix this with poorly placed checkpoints and trial and error scenarios, and it makes you extremely cautious. By the end of the game I was reduced to slowly peeking out from behind boxes with my sights to pick off one soldier at a time.

The smart player will try to trip the invisible line that makes your invincible squadmates run forward into battle to thin out the ranks while you pick off the stragglers. They’re not always helpful, though. Once I caught one soldier endlessly shooting a wall with no enemies anywhere. Another time they refused to kick open a door I had to get through. More often they’ll push you through a doorway into a hail of bullets if you don’t keep off of their predetermined paths.

The six-player local multiplayer and Wi-Fi versus modes are impressive DS features. Eight maps and a variety of standard team and solo match types scratches the multiplayer itch. While there’s no robust perk system, you can unlock new weapons as your kill count rises. Online play took a while to start up in our tests, but once the battles began things ran smoothly. It’s best to play locally or from your friends list, however, because strangers eventually drop out and you’ll be stuck at the plodding matchmaking screen again.

The four unlockable modes might keep hardcore fans coming back, but I didn’t find much reason to stick around. Challenge and Arcade modes are rewrapped campaign levels, and the Minigame mode features puzzles you’ve already found the solution to in the campaign. Survival keeps you on your toes, but you have to beat the game on hard or enter a pesky code every time to access it. Like Mobilized overall, the reward just isn’t worth the effort.

File: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Warfare goes portable

File: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Warfare goes portable

File: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Warfare goes portable

File: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Warfare goes portable

File: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Warfare goes portable

File: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Forum: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized Discussions

Files: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized Media

Wiki Page: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized Guides

Blog: User Reviews

User reviews for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized

Blog: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized - Nintendo DS

Group: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mobilized
