The deep Multiplayer experience is great with friends, family, and on Xbox Live. The Graphics are what you will expect from the previous Modern Warfare but a little improved as you can see. Replay Value is really High as I play this many times alone or with friends. Sound is exquisite with gun sounds that are very realistic and favorable. The Campaign is fun and brightly colored but compared to the previous Modern Warfare, it is a little messy with less anticipation when playing it. Still the campaign ending gives you are cliffhanger on what will happen to the primary character. The Special Ops mode is great with hours of challenging missions that are really entertaining and addicting to get all the stars. Overall, Modern Warfare 2 is a high standard for First Person Shooters in my book.

Wiki: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Guides

Guides for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Wiki Page: Modern Warfare 2 Intel Locations

Mission 1 S.S.D.D. — 1 Intel:

Right after you finish your shooting training, before heading into the course, look across underneath a watch tower.

Mission 2 Team Player — 2 Intels:

While inside of the school, before exiting, when the part comes up where you hear someone say “I think I saw someone go in that classroom.” The Enemy Laptop is on a table.

This one is coming up right after the previous Intel. It will be at the exit outside of the school, on a crate.

Mission 3 Cliffhanger — 3 Intels:

Right when Soap splits up with you, before going any further, to the right of the entrance climb up the ladder to a tower.

Before meeting up with Soap again shortly after setting the C4. Instead of going left, go right, shoot out the window and grab the Intel Laptop.

Start slowing down when you get to 1850m. Instead of going uphill, go to the left of a wooden fence to grab it. Just go slow, reverse if needed (hold the B button). All you have to do is run over the Laptop, because you cannot exit the snowmobile.

Mission 4 No Russian — 0 Intels.

Mission 5 Takendown — 4 Intels:

This is located right in the beginning of the first favela area. If you just dropped, follow the furthest left path, then take a right. Ahead from here it is in the white building to the left of the motorcycle.

When heading into the second area of the favela you will come across a ladder while proceeding uphill. Climb this ladder and it will be inside this house on the table.

Directly across from the previous Intel there will be another building with a set of small wooden stairs. Head into this building and you will find the Laptop on a nightstand next to the bed.

Near the end of the chase you will come up to a red bricked building on your right after heading up a set of stairs. In this building go downstairs and it will be between two beds on a nightstand.

Mission 6 Wolverines — 4 Intels:

This Intel is located in the gas station on the counter. You will come across the gas station after exiting the alley.

This one’s located in the CRB Financial building. The crash site is almost right in front of it. If you are looking at Nate’s Restaurant, it is to the left of that place. It’s by the Online Banking Desk.

Inside the Taco ToGo Restaurant on a table. You can enter through a hole in the back of the restaurant.

This Intel is inside of the dumpster in the back of the Burger Town Restaurant.

Mission 7 The Hornet’s Nest — 4 Intels:

Before proceeding down the street, to your right is a red & yellow building with a blue car inside the garage. The Intel is in the kitchen of this building.

This one comes shortly after the previous Intel. It’s in the trash yard area in the back, on top of a barrel in a shack.

Not far after proceeding beyond the previous Intel, you’ll find the next one at the corner of Pelayo’s Ice Cream Shop. You can either enter from there, or go uphill and go in the first entrance after the car to your right. It’ll be at the top of the stairs on a table.

As the mission is coming to an end, you will come across a soccer/football goal. In the back of the soccer/football goal, in the window, is the Intel.

Mission 8 Exodus — 3 Intels:

Inside the Garden Villa Office building, it’s on the desk.

Right after the previous Intel you will come across a security entrance with booths. Enter the part of the building on the far right side. It can be found right as you enter to the right, on a table.

After crossing the white bridge, go down two houses on the right side. The Enemy Laptop is lying at the top of the stairs on a couch.

Mission 9 The Only Easy Day… Was Yesterday — 3 Intels:

Right after you have breached the first room with the hostages, head to the next room. As you move up two more flights of stairs, it will be on a rack to your left.

After executing Plan B, head forward and it’ll be in the next room. It’s the room ahead from where you just breached, cleared and set the explosives.

Shortly after you have to shoot down a helicopter and clearing out enemies on this floor. You have to go up one set of stairs, through a door on your right, then down another set of stairs. Kill the enemy that comes through a door at the bottom on your left. Before you go out that door, turn around and go to behind the steps you just came down, and collect the Intel which is on some pellets. – Thanks for the correction Camiron.

Mission 10 The Gulag — 4 Intels:

Before heading down into the jail cells with an arch with two red lights. Right before this is a set of stairs, head up them and in the back of this room it’s on some filing cabinets.

After heading down the entrance to the jail cells, you’ll come across the main control room with security cameras. In the back of this room you will find the Intel on the table.

After defending yourself in a small room with weapons and riot shields. Proceed forward on this new floor, the first jail cell to your right will have it on a desk. – Thanks for the correction Mike.

After breaking through a wall for the second time. You will find this Intel located on the left on a desk after the cutscene. – Thanks for the correction Westy.

Mission 11 Of Their Own Accord — 2 Intels:

It’s in the elevator to the right of a dead body, in the building you’ll be entering after starting this mission.

It’s in the entrance to the Men’s Room, right inside a room with two balconies on the outside. One which has an anti-air missiles setup.

Mission 12 Contingency — 3 Intels:

After crossing the bridge and evading a BTR. Kill or let the four enemy patrols pass. Head over to the left side, you’ll see a parachute stuck in the trees. The Intel is on the crate. To clarify Tyson adds: Shoot the three man patrol, and from where Price is, the intel is on a crate under a downed parachute to the left.

Once you have reached the end area, after you jump down the hill. The Intel Laptop is located in the building marked “33″. It’s on the table near the exit.

Right after the previous Intel and after exiting the building, straight ahead will be a helipad. Go up the stairs to the helipad, the Intel will be in the northwest corner.

Mission 13 Second Sun — 0 Intels.

Mission 14 Whiskey Hotel — 2 Intels:

After exiting the oval room, it’s at the end of this room. To the left on a black couch.

It is right after you go up the last set of stairs and right before signaling the flair. After heading up the stairs and heading in the first room, look to the right in the corner on a crate.

Mission 15 Loose Ends — 3 Intels:

Before breaching any doors, which you can do afterwards, head to the very back of the house. Down the hill in front of the boat house it will be sitting on a crate.

After breaching the second floor’s room, you’ll find it on a table in the northeast corner of the room.

Breach the basement door facing northeast and you’ll find this Intel in the second room inside of here on a crate.

Mission 16 The Enemy of My Enemy — 2 Intels:

Right at the start of the left, turn right, and head into the plane in front of you. The Intel will be in the cockpit.

After sliding down the hill after exiting a broken plane. Straight ahead of you will be a plane facing your direction, east. Just like the previous Intel, it will be in the front of the plane in the cockpit.

Mission 17 Just Like Old Times — 4 Intels:

Right after you enter the tunnel and are hiding on the left side as the patrol passes. Take out the guard watching the security TV. Head east to find it on a crate.

Before exiting the cave and after killing an ambush of enemies. It’ll be to the left, northeast before exiting the cave, on a table.

Midway after entering another cave you’ll find it on a crate in an alcove. You’ll find it before breaching into the next area.

After breaching into the next area and taking out the enemies. You’ll find it on a table to the northwest.

Mission 18 Endgame — 1 Intel:

This is right at the beginning of the mission before jumping onto the boat. You can’t miss it, the final Intel Laptop is on the top of a wooden crate.

Blog Post: My review of MW2

It had few flaws. By this masterful game right here. Modern Warfare 2. I may be being a little too serious about it, but this game is the real deal, from the Campaign to Spec Ops.

The Campaign follows various different characters as the incredible story goes on. First it's PFC Joseph Allen. Impressed by his combat abilities, Allen is recruited to Task Force 141 by General Shepard. He is later sent on a mission with Vladimir Makarov. Allen is an undercover for the C.I.A while participating in a massacre of innocent civilians at a Moscow Airport.

Meanwhile after the massacre, Makarov kills Allen, leaving the body behind, sparking a massive war between Russia and the United States. Like most Call of Duty games, you will switch between two factions: Task Force 141 and the United States Army Rangers.

On Task Force 141, you will play as Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson, while fighting along side Captain "John" Soap MacTavish and Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley. You will fight in various locations, eliminating Russians and Brazilian Milita.

But on the Rangers side, you play as Private James Ramirez, which you fight in United States locations such as Washington D.C. and Virginia.

Eventually, Ghost and Roach are trying to find Makarov in a Russian-Georgian Estate, until betrayed and killed by General Shepard.

Now, you will play as Soap in a search for Shepard.

After finally locating Shepard, Soap and the rescued-from-prison Price chase down Shepard, while Soap almost loses his life from multiple wounds, and finally, Soap kills him, ending the Campaign.

It was the most fantastic Call of Duty Campaign I've ever played, and after completing it, you are rewarded the Museum, which shows displays of enemies from all the missions. And the fun part is, you can press the red button at the desk and they will all try to kill you. This is fun in a way.

After playing the Campaign, you will probably skip to the amazing Multiplayer, which is the best one in the series. With a wide variety of weapons, highly detailed and fun to play maps, some cool interactive killstreak rewards, and incredible game modes such as your standard Team Deathmatch, it's pretty much perfect.

It's a huge difference from World at War, graphics and gameplay wise. I was actually surprised on how much the graphics changed, speaking of them.

After progressing in Multiplayer, you might go on the brand new to the series Spec Ops. The only disappointment I had with this is you can't play with random people online, but that's what Modern Warfare 3 is for. Although this is unfortunate, you can still play with a friend on your list.

The missions are pretty straight forward. Most of them are pretty challenge and will keep you busy after the Campaign.

Modern Warfare 2 is probably a just about perfect game. There's clearly not much to say bad about it. I was surprised on how far the series has come, and this is totally the best Call of Duty to buy yet, even with Modern Warfare 3 already out.

Blog Post: Kyle's Review

Storyline: I had it for the first few minutes, but with all first person shooter games, you will get the "What!?" feeling

Graphics: The best I have ever seen

Sounds: all great!

Controls: RT= shoot. all you need to know

Play Time: Logged 5 hours on Veteran (VERY short)

Entertainment: Shoot, boom, shoot, boom. While I was not a person who played the multiplayer, I did very much enjoy the single player campaign. The campiagn comes back gun-a-blazin' and leads off with Soap McTavish leading his own squad. It fills up some holes on what happened in the stunning cliffhanger of Modern Warfare. The story gives a great depth to the characters and lives up to it's predessor.

New mechanics gives players better feel, and old controls feel right at home. Graphics were superb, which is what you would expect from a CoD title.

This game is a game that helps define, or taint, a generation of young gamers, and I hope Modern Warfare, continues to stun gamers for as long as we want them.

Blog Post: Can an overhyped game live up to the hype?

Yes. yes it can. (Can be Shot Down) Note: The Cold Blooded perk, if used by the enemy, makes them invisible on the radar, unless they fire an un-surpressed weapon.

4 Kill Streak: Care Package This killstreak allows you to throw down a marker which sets the location of a random killstreak (other than care package and tactical nuke) or ammo crate that can be picked up by anyone. (Helicopter that carries Care Package can be shot down)

4 Kill Streak: Counter UAV ( Counter Spy Plane ) The same thing as the UAV, except it completely jams enemy radar and radio messages. (Can be shot down)

5 Kill Streak: Sentry Gun Allows you to throw down a marker which airdrops a placeable (and destructible) Sentry Gun that shoots anything that isn't friendly. (The package is dropped down much in the same way as a care package)

5 Kill Streak: Predator Missile Control a missile that fires down from above onto your enemies startled heads. The map is viewed from top down as you pilot it towards your intended target. Can shoot down aircraft.

6 Kill Streak: Precision Airstrike Target a small portion of the map to be bombarded with rockets. Like it says, PRECISION, so don't just put it anywhere.

7 Kill Streak: Harrier Strike Target a location on the map to be bombed, then guarded by a fierce Harrier aircraft. Can be shot down.

7 Kill Streak: Attack Helicopter Shoots anybody in range if not under covered area can be shot down.

8 Kill Streak: Emergency Airdrop Like a care package gone wild, an EA is basically a Care Package, but with 4 instead of one Package being dropped.

9 Kill Streak: Pavelow A highly upgraded version of the attack helicopter. It is heavily armored and initially fires flares from its belly to cause incoming missiles to be confused and miss the target. The Pavelow also flies around quite a bit more, so it definitely give you your money's worth,

11 Kill Streak: Chopper Gunner Be the gunner of an armored helicopter that encircles the map a few times.

11 Kill Streak: AC -130 Gunship Pilot a gunship from a very long distance away. Has three firing modes to ensure enemy is obliterated. First firing mode is a very powerful missile. Second is Flak which is less powerful but highly effective when you need multiple shots fired quickly. Third is a high calibur machinegun which is basically the gun from a Chopper Gunner kill streak.

15 Kill Streak: EMP Disables ALL enemy electronics (Heartbeat Sensors, Mini Map, etc...)

25 Kill Streak: Tactical Nuke End the match with a bang, literally. Once this killstreak is activated, it's over in ten seconds, kills everyone, including you and your teammates, but ensures victory. *EDITED BY xX-w0lf_r3b0rn-X*: It is possible to disable a Tactical Nuke. All you have to do is call an EMP right before it hits the ground.

Well, hope you found this helpful :)

Blog Post: PC Version Comes Short

I've spent an enormouse amount of time playing this game, both single and multiplayer on both consoles and PC, but this version is the weakest of the three.

Major downfalls of the PC version: no stat tracking, no leaderboards, no dedicated server support, a long delay on dlc releases compared to the consoles, IWnet's terrible anticheat functionality (much more prevelent on PC), no control pad support

Major benefits of PC version: no quickscoping

This game was absolutly created for consoles. The graphics customizability is poor, having few options other than what comes standard (low antialiasing and such). The major bugs with online, now that they are finally fixed, took weeks to months to fix (for all versions), dropping the appeal of playing this when it first released.

I could go into details on my actual complaints of the game and praise its igh quality parts, but odds are you already know. The online play is the best part of this game. It takes place after the first Modern Warfare and you play as many characters. The storyline could've been better. The multiplayer has a lot of depth and the points system is great. There is really nothing wrong with this game. I don't know how Activision will follow up to this. And that's a good thing.

Blog Post: The campaign is great...

But the multiplayer sucks. It's always been the law of culture that the sequel will be more popular but not as good, well this one was more popular and greatly improved. I always start by at least playing the first mission on campaign so I at least know the difference between crouching and blowing myself up. I was somewhat disappointed when I saw the pit, getting the feeling that I had just been on a fake wooden boat as soap. Then, in the start of the real first mission I saw this game had a special quality to it. First off, we had been fighting in Afghanistan before, that wasn't new from the first modern warfare, however what I couldn't believe was how they had taken the same idea and put a new technological twist. The enemy were smarter, better armed, and in a greater supply. The addition of a Humvee also surprised me. I ended up finishing the campaign and it went down as my third favorite campaign in history. The only thing keeping me from giving a 10 is the feeling that I had been there before and there were only but a few groundbreaking differences in the campaign. The addition of special ops as a way to play instead of arcade mode in the first game was quite a nice change though, recognizing landmarks and missions from both games, it was amazing as to how fun random objectives could be. This game also has one of the best multiplayer system ever, I was proud to be a part of the 20 million people "doing it" as they said in the commercials. So, all around an awesome game, had fun playing it and hope that the third Modern Warfare builds even more.

Blog Post: Infinity Ward sky high expectations

My expectations on this sequel were very high and you know what? they really were . Starting with the campaign every single level was a total high action pumping experience , big explosions, a lot of tense, nice narrative and dramatic sequences . The gameplay is very smooth and easy, a great variety of weapons , cool characters lives with the experience. In the multiplayer side, it takes it to a whole new level there are a many good modes just like Demolition,Domination and the old classic Team Death match one of the most fantastic modes is the Headquarters pro , defending never was so challenging . The sound design is top notch. Meanwhile the final and new feature Spec Ops is very innovative simply because its entertaining in every way and when you rank up to Veteran pray to never die also is a great mode for offline users giving it a little more of time to get achievements or trophies and extending the use.

Blog Post: Not 4, but not bad

As the sequel to the greatest military shooter of all time, Modern Warfare 2 had a lot to live up to. For the most part, it delivers. The campaign delivers on the "omg!" moments, partly masking the fact that the plot sometimes makes no sense. I didn't play much multiplayer on this game, so look elsewhere for reviews on that. The Special Ops mode is a fun diversion, but doesn't stand up to Nazi Zombies from World of War.

Blog Post: A Roller coster experience of fans who like First person shooters

The moment i started playing Modern warfare 2 i was like WOW and OMG I didnt see that comeing it is recomended to peaple to like first person shooters with its great multiplayer and single player though i would recomend you play spec ops in solo mode

Story:

5 years after the events of the Modern warfare 1 you play as multaple charicters through out the story basicley remember Zakahav (the dude you killed in modern warfare 1) he has a assistant called Makarov and he is basicley super mad about killing his boss. so (SPOILER ALERT) russies start invadeing the U.S.A witch you fight in as a american in one charicter you play as. meanwhile task force 141 is trying to uncover the conspericy behind Makarov. the story is verey tense and makes you wonder whats gonna happen next.(5/5)

Multiplayer

After your done with singile player you can go do the online muliplayer it has several maps to play on (my favorate is the airport map) and alot of weapon unlocks. Weapon attachments and camos can be unlocked via chalenges like for example get 15 head shots to unlock digital camo the multiplayer has some campy maps to make sure you throw a grenadein to a room that you know has campers. (4/5)

Coop

coop online is imposible to get into if i were you i would recomend to do coop on solo mode. (2/5)

Overal rateing

Overall modern warfare 2 is a must buy for first person shooter fans with its great multiplayer and story however if you want to do coop do it alone.

(9.5/10)
