Tech Comparison (This Gen Vs Next Gen)

It's no surprise that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be making the jump to next generation this fall. At yesterday's Xbox One reveal, Activision showed off how much better the next generation title will look.

This video was originally presented on stage by Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg (whom we had the chance to interview yesterday). If you've heard about "the Call of Duty dog," but haven't yet seen what the buzz is about, now is your chance.

Call of Duty: Ghosts arrives on November 5, 2013 (though not necessarily that early for PS4 and Xbox One).

  • And yet, battlefield is still better.

  • Side by side it would look good. But alone, its like any other COD.

  • Say what you will about the CoD franchise, but Ghosts looks pretty great. We've all been crying for a new engine right?

  • Come on! The dog model is hardly "next-gen." It's just a bunch of flat textures. At least put in some slight fur effects or something. Plus, the collar and vest are VERY low res and look like they're made out of construction paper!
But, I guess I'm just being too expectant of a company like Infinity Ward...
  • It's so hilarious how they tried to say MW3 pushed the limits of visuals. Only the most devout Call of Duty fanboy would believe that outright lie. Even the graphics in Ghosts are below current standards. Most games these days look better than the original Crysis, but Ghosts doesn't even come close to the amount of detail put into that game.

  • I hope the address the running animation. In the past 7 or 8 COD's, it looked as if the character sat on a box of finely sharpened Dixon Ticonderoga's before running.
  • *shrugs* Looks like a PC game from a few years ago. Not sure what all the fuss is all about.
  • Another generation of stagnated graphics and gameplay... All the stuff they mentioned has been done before and probably better. What a terrible time to be a gamer in.

  • Dat hand.

  • Until they have the branches and underbrush move or sway when you bump into each individual plant, like FC2 already did, COD is going to be behind the times graphically...

  • I don't care how the graphics are. I'm not going to buy it till I can see my character's nose!

  • If these graphics are alright, I can't wait to see BF4's!

  • Terrible graphics.

  • I'm partially sold. I refused to buy or even pre order another COD until the graphics and gameplay were updated. That's one check for me, now to wait for the other shoe to drop.

  • This is it? With the power of next gen hardware they barely reach Crysis 1?
  • The graphics look okay, but the only thing I wish they would add would be character customization, so, maybe I can actually be my gender this time

  • wasnt all that impressive looking battlefield 4 still looked better in my opinion. but thats just me

  • Calling it. Dogs are the new bow are arrow.
  • Never before seen. That's Activision for you, treat us like a bunch of knuckle heads.
