Mordecai - Excellent Hunter combinations

The Gunslinger

My personal favorite way to play the Hunter is with a good ol' fashion revolver in hand.  Except that revolver needs to be modded to fire shotgun shells, say, like a Masher!  As Scooter would say, get you one!

Add 5/5 Gun Crazy, first skill in the Gunslinger line, and your 7-pellet-firing revolver has a 40% chance to fire 14 pellets!  If you truly are gun crazy, keep going and get Hair Trigger and Relentless to solidify your position as the premier Gunslinger in Pandora.

The Sniper

Similar to the Masher concept, there are sniper rifles in Borderlands called Skullmashers.  They are significantly harder to find than their revolver counterparts, but have the same effect— they fire 7 projectiles as if they were a shotgun shell.

Combine this with the sniper rifle skills Caliber and Focus, or other Sniper-tree skills like Trespass, and you've got the deadly accuracy of a sniper rifle to beat your foes down with the power of a shotgun.

The Rogue

My recommendation here is to pick up at least Swift Strike and Out For Blood, and if you'd like, continue on and grab Aeriel Impact and Bird of Prey.  You will have an unstoppable Bloodwing that will heal you and daze your opponents.

Want to use Bloodwing even more?  Combine your choice of Rogue talents with either Carrion Call (Sniper) or Predator (Gunslinger) to reduce Blood's cooldown.

I'd say go with Predator and pick up a Ranger class mod.  If you can get a high-level Ranger mod with +4 to Predator on top of having 5 points in the skill already, your Bloodwing's 28 second cooldown has just been reduced by 27 seconds.

Trust me, it works.  A Rogue/Gunslinger can have his Bloodwing on a one-second cooldown with your choice of healing and/or dazing utility, on top of some mean revolver skills.  Sit back and enjoy!
