Bladestorm: Nightmare, a strategy game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One on March 3rd, 2015. The game’s missions consist of the player fighting for either England or France during the infamous Hundred Years’ War, with a devilish twist.

Bladestorm: Nightmare features two play modes: Bladestorm mode, a traditional playthrough that follows a realistic depiction of the era, and Nightmare mode, which plays out like historical fiction.

Nightmare mode pitches the Hundred Years’ War as a backdrop for an invasion of evil creatures led by an evil Joan of Arc (more like Joan of Dark, am I right?). Joan controls an army of dragons, giants, and demons that forces both the English and the French to join arms to fight the otherworldly menace and restore Joan’s benevolent persona.

Bladestorm: Nightmare features 32 playable characters, including both historical and fictional figures. The trailer and screenshots below show the liberties taken by the game in portraying 14th century Europe.

Bladestorm: Nightmare is set to release physically on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and digitally on PlayStation 3 on March 3rd, 2015. Read our preview and visit the game’s website for more information.
