Bootleg Footage Teases Tribeca Film Festival Appearance

Sony and Quantic Dream have been proudly sharing that the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls is the first PlayStation exclusive to be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival (L.A. Noire was the first title to receive the honor). Yesterday we shared with you the enormous prop script we received. Today, we bring you a sample of the footage that will be shown this weekend.

In the video, you'll see Ellen Page's character confront a mundane (yet terrifying) situation before taking a leap of faith. Quantic Dream has definitely upped the fidelity over even the gorgeous Heavy Rain. We'll have more on Beyond: Two Souls from the festival this weekend.

The title will be out on October 8, exclusively on PlayStation 3.

  • WHOA. WHOA. WHOA. I know I gotta get this game!! And congrats for being the 1st Sony exclusive at the festival!!
  • super stoked for this game. screw the guys who say "it's not a video game, it's an interactive movie." The Walking Dead [Telltale Games'] was an interactive comic book, and that may (and probably should) win GOTY. that's my 2 pennies. can't wait for this game.
  • heavy rain was amazing. i am really awfully curious about how this title will be. it will be played, no question.

  • This game looks absolutely amazing.

  • It may be bootleg footage, but that was sure an impressive minute and-a-half. Definitely deserves to be shown off like a true movie, but how long is that dang festival showing gonna be with 2,000 + pgs.? (lol)

  • I worry that game developers will lose focus and just start focusing more on story than gameplay.
  • While I had a blast with Heavy Rain in my first play through, during my second and third I realized how many of the choices you make dont matter and how many plot holes there are in the game. I just hope this game is written better.

  • I would love to play that game on a screen that big! :D

  • Those graphics are incredible! And this is the scaled down version of QD's engine! Just imagine what their rumored PS4 shooter will look like!

  • This is shaping up to be my most anticipated game.

  • Can't wait to get some hands on this.

  • Happy birthday to me.
  • David Cage is weird.
  • Wow, this is a big damn deal! That's awesome!

  • It must be nice to be able to play video games on such a big screen.

  • David Cage is a hack. He just strikes me as someone who couldn't make it in the film industry so he migrated to games (and still constantly talks *** about them). I play games to, you know, PLAY games. I don't want to play a series of quicktime events wrapped around a story, no matter how good the graphics are. Just look at Half Life 2 and Portal 2, complete fusion of gameplay that translates into storytelling, and not a single cutscene. I know I'm kind of cherry picking obvious classics from the medium (and both made by Valve) but it still stands. That is the strength of the medium. This just looks like pretentious crap, just look at the stories about the 2,000 plus page script! Are you kidding me?
  • I laughed harder than I should've at the quick cut to a guy mashing X on his PS3 control.

  • all this is starting to feel a bit self-congratulatory. not sure I'm that impressed yet.

  • *** MORE I SEE OF THIS GAME THE MORE I WANT IT
