The lights are on
Have you ever played with someone who uses the recon class, only gets a few kills, and doesn't really help out the whole team? It really can piss off some gamers, even casual ones. Well if you are one of those snipers who is being addressed by the first sentence or if you are wanting to try the recon class out please consider using the following tips.
Traditional Snipers:
For those of you who want to be the sniper who picks off single targets at long range while reporting information to the rest of your team read the following paragraph (assault snipers read the next paragraph). Remember this, from past experience use of the bolt-action weapons really can help improve your chances of getting a lot of points (if you prefer the semi-auto or VSS snipers, go ahead). These weapons are ALWAYS one hit kills for headshots at any distance. But remember, each sniper's bullets are affected differently by gravity depending on accuracy. All rifles start to drop at 100 meters, but more accurate ones are less affected by the gravity which makes you require longer range for marksman headshots. Keep in mind that whenever you see a target or a potential target, spot it to alert your team and to get points even if someone else beat you to the kill and always BE PATIENT, I can't stress that enough. Also, find a sniper spot that is well concealed to hide yourself and to distort your muzzle flash and if you are starting to miss targets or aren't able to see a lot of soldiers move to a different position, preferably closer to the area of interest. Now if that doesn't work switch classes. I prefer using the GOL Sniper Magnum, M1911 Pistol, Extra Ammo, and Magnum Ammunition. Please leave comments telling me if this hasn't helped you, anything you have questions about, and asking for more guides on things I've forgotten or left out, or on a different class.
Assault Snipers:
Now for those of you who like the ghille suits, but hate sniping read this. Some of the sniper rifles unlocked are good for slapping on a red dot or acog sight and jumping into the fray (the bolt aren't good for this). These weapons are the Type 88 Marksman Rifle, SVU, and VSS. Most of you though should use one of the weapons for all kits like the G3 or Saiga Shotgun with the M93-R Extra Ammo, Magnum Ammo and either vehicle spec you prefer. You should only be a assault sniper in close quarters, so assault sniping isn't for all maps. I personally think the first part of laugna presa(rush mode) and arica harbor are good maps for assault sniping. Port Valdez and atacama desert are probably not the best choices because open space and big gaps takes up most of those maps. The pros of assault sniping are that sniper rifles do more damage and are more accurate than other weapons, plus you get the gadgets of the recon class. The cons are that the snipers don't have much ammo, you can't really fire from the hip, and the fire rate is very slow (unless you use the g3 or VSS, but the g3 cannot have optical sights and the VSS isn't very accurate. Please leave comments telling me if this hasn't helped you, anything you have questions about, and asking for more guides on things I've forgotten or left out, or on a different class.
