There are three rules by which I abide by when encountering an enemy in Battlefield Bad Company 2.

1. When using a machine gun of any type, before you shoot quickly tap the right stick to croutch and  then aim and shoot. This will increase your chances of getting a headshot if you aim up, at all, and this will make most of their bullets miss your head.

2. When Sniping and your faced with close combat it is always most likely to go for a no scope and then switch to your pistol, compared to just having your pistol, mainly because it's very easy to attain a no scope online.

3. The final rule that I abide by is to always at have some sort of scope on, whether it's just a red dot scope on.
