The lights are on
In the latest update on the official Battlefield blog, DICE has offered new details and a video on just how customizable the weapons of Battlefield 4 will be.
DICE has tripled the number of available accessories from Battlefield 3, and increased the number of available slots on all of the guns. Taking cosmetic options into account, for example, the assault rifle (one of many different classes of weapons) will have 240,000 different variations alone.
Battlefield 4 is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC October 29, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions available at the launches of those consoles, which will be November 15 and and 22 respectively.

Sweeet! I'm just wondering if they will even have character customization (other than changing camouflages)
That's great but will they actually make a difference on how the weapon performs cause they sure as hell did nothing in BF3
I'd just like to point out that you can't put canted iron sights on that weapon... No rail where they are paced. Same goes with the majority of the weapons I've seen so far from BF4. Of course, they could be welded to the gun I guess. However, it is just a game, and in games, we can be crazy Japanese he/she types with pink, spiky hair and we can swing a sword that is twenty times our size around like it is plastic. So, Canted irons on a gun that has no rail where they are placed is fine by me.
This looks great, reminds me of the weapon customization in Blacklight Retribution :D
I will do the smart thing this time around and wait for the inevitable BF4 Premium Edition at 60$.
Woah. That looks so... complicated.
I'm curious as to how they're going to implement the canted ironsights on a console controller
This is pretty damn cool, I had no idea there were THAT many camos in the game. Maybe that means we won't be getting boring challenges and rewards will be more than just another camo.
this is what I want!
Call me old fashion but I doubt I'd ever sink time into customizing all of my guns appearances. But I like that I'd have the option.
That just converted me. I'm convinced.
Weapon customization doesn't matter much to me. What does matter is that the weapon all be balanced and allow freedom in game-play style.
