Both are good games. I don't see what's to argue about! I understand that if you don't have enough money and you can't decide, get what your friends are getting. It's much more fun to play with someone. That's why I play CoD. The same argument goes for Xbox 360 v. Playstation 3.
BF3= better multi-player MW3= better campaign

I think BF3>MW3 cause in Battlefield the graphics are rough and more realistic in MW3 its all smooth and i just can't stand it after awile for a reason. In MW1, MW2, and, MW3 something always goes wrong in the missions while in Battlefield the missions are long and fought. Infinity Ward makes short missions and the only reason there long cuz they is always something messing up. Like in one mission u have to go the secondary LZ and then u get caught in the sand storm cuz the chopper crashed
I agree I like both games just fine but I still have my favorite: Battlefield 3. The best way to figure out which you should get (if only getting one) is to think if you like multiplayer that consists of finding an enemy player around every corner or if you like it better when you have to be patient and actually try to get kills.
I guess it really comes down to personal preference. While Modern Warfare 3 focuses on fast paced gameplay with lone wolf tactics, Battlefield 3 leans to the fight with a team and work together on slower paced battlefields...
