Assassin's Creed Unity Season Pass Includes Newly Announced 2.5D Downloadable Title
by Jeff Marchiafava on Sep 22, 2014 at 07:20 AM

Ubisoft has announced what Assassin's Creed Unity players can expect from the game's season pass, which includes a standalone downloadable game set in China.

The biggest DLC addition included in the season pass is entitled Dead Kings, and takes Arno to Saint Denis, a French city outside of Paris. Dead Kings takes place after the events Unity, and features what Creative Director Alex Amancio says is the darkest story Ubisoft has ever told in the Assassin's Creed series. Thanks to its underground labyrinth of crypts, Saint Denis will feature a host of puzzles, as well as treasure hunts, murder mysteries, and other missions. You'll also be unlocking new outfits, skills, and weapons, including the Guillotine gun, which fires explosive rounds.

The season pass also offers new missions in Paris, and more than 30 new weapons, items, and outfits. However, the biggest surprise is the inclusion of a standalone downloadable game, called Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China. The 2.5D action/platformer stars a female assassin named Shao Jun and takes place in 16th century China. While Shao Jun will still be free running (on the Great Wall of China, naturally) and performing leaps of faith, her fighting style incorporates martial arts, offering a slightly different flavor on the series' combat.

Ubisoft says all of the season pass content will be released by early 2015, and will offer roughly eight hours of new gameplay. Ubisoft has yet to announce a price for the season pass, but says that those who pre-order will save 30 percent. Update: Ubisoft has now announced that the season pass will cost $29.99. Learn more about the season pass by watching the trailer below.
