See Assassin's Creed Rogue's Gameplay In Action

Are you ready to see what the life of a Templar has in store?

Last week, we announced Assassin's Creed Rogue in our cover story reveal. The new entry places you in the role of a Templar during the Seven Years' War and bridges Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed III. It features the popular naval combat from Black Flag, but this time around you take on frigid waters in the North Atlantic. You'll also be on your feet, hunting assassins and avoiding their stealthy pursuits.

Ubisoft released a pair of gameplay trailers today, so you can finally see it all for yourself. Check them out below along with new screens, as you get a taste of the frosty waters and various interesting wildlife around.

What do you think so far?

  • It's black flag 2.0...hopefully they cut out the tailing missions...
  • Any new combat animations?
  • I really hope this comes to the ps4 at some point in the future. I enjoyed the sailing in AC IV and would like to do some more and play as a templar. Either way looks like fun.

  • are they ever going to give me time to catch up on this franchise?? two games at once seems a little absurd to me. and everyone thought Call of Duty was bad for the annual releases, Ubisoft took this to another level...
  • Hear guys, take all of the assets from Black Flag and put together another game for 360/PS3 while the A team works on the next gen version. (conversation in Ubisoft boardroom) It really is very much like Black Flag, not a bad thing, that game was really fun to play. I actually fear that Unity will get tired being located in a single city. All of the new flash from unity thou, will you be able to go back to the old control scheme?! Seems Rogue should be release before Unity if they want to tap the same audience.
  • The game looks good, extremely similar to how Black Flag felt, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't think a ship crew would be happily singing shanties in a blizzard though haha. I'm hard pressed to think that someone would be more excited to play Rogue than Unity however.
  • It looks so different from the last 86 AC games. 9/10 platinum. game of the okay.

  • It looks nice, but I've never been interested in the Templars point of view so I won't be getting this right away.

  • But there are no penguins in the North Pole... PS: So apparently it's a Great Auk.
  • Although I love and bought every AC game...feel like I should skip this one. Have a hunch that they'll release an hd version for the xbox one/ps 4 just like they did for AC Liberation on 360/ps4
  • I died a little inside when he burned that flag... Just a little, though. Really, it looks about like I expected: Black Flag 2, with a more ACIII-esque setting. Which isn't a bad thing. But hopefully that's about the extent of Rogue's similarity to III. :P
  • This game is literally Black Flag. Ubisoft didn't even bother changing the setting
  • OMG , THIS ALL LOOKS SOOO COOL!!! They've really improved upon any probepks Black Flag added (and there wasn't a lot) and added so much more. I'm gonna play the hell outta this game. So much to do and see and so much to experience! Still, it's gonna feel wierd killing Assassins! I've been an Assassin for 8 years and now I must betray then :(
  • I'd love to play 2 AC in a year.

  • Why were there penguins in the Arctic when penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere?
  • was kinda hoping that they atleast implimented the new parkour system, but i guess this in last gen. i don't think i will be picking this game up any time soon. it just looks like black flag atm.

  • Nah, I'll pass on this. Though the sailing portion does look quite fun.

  • This game looks great but to Black Flaggish. Black Flag was fun but I don't want a clone. It does though have some great additions. Time will tell how this will turn out.

  • I don't know what I was expecting to see but I'm disappointed. AC4 was my least favorite one and this looks to be just the same. I'll pass on this and wait for Unity.

  • i'm sorry but this is extreme franchise fatigue, it was already getting a little old. now they release two titles in one year, neither of which has dramatically changed. Grant it Unity has some interesting things going on, but not enough to really set it apart from its predecessors. BUT I'll probably end up playing them on down the line, if they end up being a free game with one of the console services, or used from Game Stop like a year after they release.
