The lights are on
Disregarding the title of my review, Assassin's Creed Revelations was a graphically sweet game with a rich story. Admittedly I played the original Assassin's Creed, skipped II and Brotherhood and picked up revelations on a suggestion from my local GameStop associate. When I started played the first things I noticed were a)wow this looks good) and b) These controls are alittle goofy. It took my alittle while to remember the gameplay mechanics from before and once I did the enjoyment factor picked up. Playing as the aging Ezio was fun but I found myself strugglign to connect with the story. Perhaps this would have been better had I not skipped the middle two games. I found the animus island sequences kind of odd and Test subject 16 seemed extremely creepy from the beginning. The character model for 16 seems really under executed compared to Ezio. Did anyone else notice this? After about 10 sessions with the game I decided to sell it and bought Saints Row: The Third. I very much wanted to like Revelations but in the end the game was just not for me. I have heard very positive things about the second Assassin's Creed game so perhaps someday soon I will try it but the downside to Revelations was that it fight like playing the original Assassin's Creed which for me had the same struggling enjoyment level. That is very unfortunate because I love the genre and I love the idea but it just wasn't as much fun to play as I hoped.
