Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Sowing The Seas For Adventure

Ubisoft has released a video walkthrough of the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag mission the company showed at E3. The clip shows off some of the best parts of being a pirate, including finding buried treasure, taking out enemy ships, and expanding your fleet of ne'er-do-wells.

The clip doesn't show off how assassin Edward Kenway took on the mission that kicked off this particular chain of sequences (read our E3 preview for that), but it does highlight some of the game's major systems, with a focus on Kenway's pride and joy, the Jackdaw.

  • This is not the demo we saw at E3. The E3 demo was Edward and Blackbeard on some jungle island which got blown up as Edward escaped it.

Also, I'd like to know which playstation this is being played on.
  • i've never been a huge fan of the assassins creed series, however this one catches me despite it's awful roach-motel name. of course, i tend to be a sucker for games set in the tropics so...there's that.
  • I loved part 3 and I will pick this up for the Wii U. I need to go back and play the other games since I started with 3.
  • This is gonna look and play so good on my PS4! Can't wait. I'm playing AC3 right now and lovin it.
  • I hope this fails.
  • Not buying this one. Sorry Ubisoft, I'm never going to buy Assassin's Creed again until you bring it to where it should be by now, either the modern day or Asia.
  • I, too, would like to see Asia someday but I also like what I'm seeing now. It looks great, naval combat was so much fun, and if they really did get their act together regarding the assassinations, so that I can plan my approach and actually perform them myself again, then I'm definitely getting another special edition.

  • All suspension of disbelief is murdered every single time he swims while swaddled in pounds of cloth leather and steel.
  • I'm getting this for PS4.

  • does anyone just no care about this game anymore?

  • I'm excited for this not as an assassins creed game, but as a pirate game
  • OOoooh my lord..this all just me.I dont even care that its Assasins creed..just look at all that pirate tropics glory..

  • Pirates are cool, so I'm looking forward to this. You know what I'd really like to see? Ancient Rome. I mean, with all the Brutus journals left behind in Brotherhood, and Rome's history of colorful political, philosophical, and military figures it'd be pretty interesting to see what the Assassins were up to back then (you know, besides stabbing Julius Caesar).
  • I'm not a huge fan of Assassin's Creed 3, but this game looks pretty amazing. I think it looks absolutely nothing like the series before 3 messed everything up, and would probably be better as a standalone title, but I'd probably enjoy this game.

  • Looks fun!

  • The game looks fun and I hope it turns out great!
  • Looks like a lot of fun. I wish people would judge this game by its actual quality and not the release date...
  • I hope this game is more difficult than other Assassin's Creed games.

  • I have mine pre ordered from Gamestop and hopefully it will be a day one release with my XBOX ONE I'm getting. This game looks amazing. I'm a big fan of the series loved them all, and it just seems like they are getting better every time. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
  • I was so scarred by the pathetic excuse for a glitch-fest they called Assassin's Creed 3 that I have little to no faith in the future of the franchise. Go back to the style and storytelling of AC2, and I'll come back.
