Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Get Prepped To Hoist The Black Flag With New 101 Video

Ubisoft has put together a nine-minute video to set the stage for its seafaring Assassin's Creed adventure. Black Flag is out in one week, and the footage below will get you ready to live the pirate's life.

The video introduces protagonist Edward Kenway, his pirate friends, and sailing on the high seas. You'll be able to take on enemy ships and capture them, explore the islands of the Caribbean Sea, and of course, sneak up on foes to put them down quickly and quietly.

Assassin's Creed IV is out on October 29 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be available at the release of those consoles. You can check out two different previews from Gamescom here and here.

  • I don't think I've seen a game with more trailers than this one, nonetheless it still looks great.
  • i hope it is better than 3 was assassins creed is getting a bit old to me but i will be getting this on my ps4

  • I have a question Mike. I notice a lot of times a review for a game will come out same day it is released. Do you guys review the game the day it releases, or does Game Informer get a copy to review a little earlier and wait until the game is out before breaking out your review?
  • Looks to be the Pirate game I've always wanted. Can't wait to play it on PS4!

  • Are you guys going to offer just 1 review or are you going to give opinions on the PS4/X1 versions when they release? It would be nice to see the differences in the current and next gen versions.

  • the narrator says the west indies was where piracy was born, did ubisoft do any research on pirates before they made this game?
  • i hope to god that they don't implement more of that "100% synchronization" bull crap into the missions. nothing is more frustrating than completing a mission only to to be given "100% SYNC FAILED!" in bold letters to make you feel like a loser. screw the competitive crap, i just want to enjoy the game!
  • This game would look real good in 3D
  • I hope it's not glitchy like AC3 & Liberation. Both were solid titles, but very annoying at certain points in the story.

  • i wanna see video for ps3 version, not a video for a console that not release yet! lol

  • I like the tropical setting this time around. With ACIII, everything felt brown and depressing, and none of the locations stood out in any particular way (Boston and New York felt like the same city). I guess it was sort of fitting since there was a war going on, but it didn't have the beauty of other AC games.

  • How come the release date on PC is repeatedly reported as 29th OCT when Steam and Amazon say Nov 22nd?

  • i hated the naval misions,it took forever to take 1 ship.

i hope they redid the naval combet and made it less linear.

and all those extra hunting ectivities were also awfully boring,

i hope they redid this game from scratch

  • PISTOL SWORDS!!!!!!! That is all.

  • Now that I'm getting a PS4 or I'll buy this as its the only launch game I have a modicum of interest in. I fully expect a buggy and disappointing experience like I got with AC 3. Only this time there are pirates.

  • Absolutely cannot wait!

  • I can't wait to go exploring. The naval segments were my favorite part of AC3. Bring me that horizon!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel a bit guilty about the prospect of harpooning whales? I mean, this is a game about assassins, and I'm all for historical accuracy, but...

  • Man I am so hyped for this game! Assassin's Creed has yet to bore me and this one looks so boss! A true pirates game mixed with the never ending struggle of the Assassin's and the Templars! I can't wait to meet Anne Bonny and Calico Jack, interesting story between those 2 XD
