Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Trailer Shows Kenway And Crew, The Thrill Of The Heist

A pirate without plunder is a sorry sight indeed. Fortunately for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag hero Edward Kenway and friends, their treasure chests aren't likely to run empty anytime soon. A new trailer shows off a major score, while introducing some of the game's key players.

The clip below shows Blackbeard, Calico Jack, Anne Bonny, and more as they do what pirates do best: carouse, scheme, and battle. All in all, it doesn't look like the worst way to live. Especially if you have access to a literal pile of gold.

To see more about Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's multiplayer, check out our preview. Look for the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 29. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be available in time for their hardware launches, on November 12 and 19 respectively.

  • can't be serious. Are you kidding me with this? Seriously?
  • this game has some of the best trailers i've seen they get me so excited to be a pirate, but it definitely helps the hype by skipping number 3
  • Can't say I've been that excited for this since I seen what happened at the end of 3 but this is looking pretty good I must say. I wonder if it's just going to be a set pirate story or if we will have a animus/type part as well throughout the game
  • I do want the game, I love the setting/time period. And I know this game has been in development for a few years now, but I think what the series REALLY needs is a breather. Let AC sit for a bit, it will breathe new life into the series.

  • I'm not seeing any Assassin in this particular trailer, but I can overlook it with that much pirate.
  • The game looks pretty sweet. I am still waiting to see some reviews and get an idea of what it is changing and bringing to the table.

  • My need for money is so great right now. I might have to start seducing old women to pay for my gaming addiction....let's hope it won't come to that.
  • While I love the pirate setting I have a feeling they are making up to many things on their own, or just getting their facts from very unreliable sources. They have kept making it a big deal that there are women pirates such as Anne Bonny but it just seems like the Devs are using them to be as politicaly correct as possible. There were only ever 2 women who served aboard pirate ships and there is no evidence that they were ever part of the crew or even considered pirates, infact all evidence points to the fact that they were kidnapped and held as sex slaves.
  • Do I have to come up with a new comment now that my first one was deleted for no reason? Fine. This game is looking better with every trailer. I really hope they can keep the October PC release date.

  • This was a really cool trailer and it set a great tone, but it still doesn't feel like an "assassin's" game more than a "pirate" game.

  • Black Flag is awesome. love that band...

  • these trailers are great and all, but I don't really want them to show much more, I'm already sold on the game and I don't really need to see more of them lol

  • The more I see of the story the less interested I am but the more of the world I see the more excited I am. Kinda a conundrum that this year's been with a lot of franchise games, but I think I'll still be putting down a few bucks for AC IV when the time comes.
  • Yo-Ho Yo-ho a Pirates life for me!

  • Getting a bit more pumped I guess.

  • This looks to be the BEST game in the series.

  • I hope this one is better.

  • this game is going to be awesome
  • Enough, enough just release the game already. Is it just me or does the story line seem to be fading already?
