Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Between Sharks And The Towering Man Of War, Kenway Has His Hands Full

Every great pirate needs a great ship; Edward Kenway is no exception.

A batch of new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag screens from Comic Con show off combat and life aboard Kenway’s vessel, the Jackdaw. In addition to shark stabbing and spyglass looking, the images preview some of the weapons and tactics available to Kenway, as well as some of the other (larger) boats you can expect to see. The Man of War in particular is very intimidating.

Our own Ben Reeves was treated to a tour of the real-life Jackdaw at San Diego Comic Con. Yes, he took pictures.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag releases on October 29.

  • Better pack your Shark Repellent Bat Spray.

(Someone may have said that already, but I'm not looking through all the comments to find out.)

  • SOLD!!

  • Looks like he's holding some interesting new First Civ tech in the fourth shot. I wish they would talk more about the modern day side of things... But then I guess it'll make it all the more fresh going into the game without a clue what's happening.

  • I'll be too busy fending off sharks in GTA V to care about an annual series
  • Where does the assassin part come in?

  • PETA makes silly argument about how Assassin's Creed encourages violence against animals in 3...2...
  • really? freaking Jaws attacks your ship? stupid..

  • Neat.

  • That guy needs a bigger boat.

  • If this isn't released on talk like a pirate day...I'm going to be very disappointed

  • Fighting with the Shark? This gonna be fun.

  • great whites aren't found often in the caribbean so they need to change those for tiger sharks
  • I'll pass

  • Dang this is Awesome. I cannot wait until I get this game. Wow.

  • Assassins Creed IV: Far Cry 3 beat us to the punch so we are going to implement/cut and paste it's system's in an attempt to excite/differentiate this iteration from the last EDITION.
  • ...and I'm sure the mechanic will be broken just like the combat mechanics of all previous AC games...

  • I find this Assassin's Creed game to be interesting. It has the potential to be as innovatively upgraded just like AC2 was compared to the first game. I'll be following the news about this game, but definitely will not buy it near release knowing how the last couple games were.

  • I am very very excited about this game!! I was just amazed on the many of pirating you can do! haha I mean not only you can just battle other ships but you can also take that ship's crew, take that ship as part of you armada, or salvage that ship to repair your own! just awesome! as well to board the enemy ship and fight and just many many more! ^_^

  • I'll admit, at first, I had little to no interest in AC4...but the more I hear about it, the more interested I become...
