The lights are on
(Sigh) I really don't know what to say about this misstep, but I think the word "Boring" works right. I've been waiting for this game since it came out and I'm completely disappointed for what it is.
The Assassin's Creed games can be fun at points, Assassin's Creed 1: Great story and combat system, Assassin's Creed II: Great world to explore and had dual hidden blades, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: Great story, hit or miss MP, Assassin's Creed Revelations: Pretty good, but could've been better. Assassin's Creed III is the type of game you'd expect to improve all the problems from the last sequel, instead they turned it into a snore fest.
The game still has great graphics, but the bugs it has are really annoying. Enemies get stuck in rocks or trees, horses fall through the ground, and the screen tearing gave me a bad headache. The story is very forgettable, plot holes everywhere. The characters aren't interesting, not even the main character, Conner, I found him to be extremely annoying.
The combat is very well done and different than the last ones though, which is a good thing. Its flawlessly fluid and fast paced when fighting multiple enemies at once, but that another issue I have with this; its to easy. You can kill an entire mob of enemies without even getting hit once twice if you're lucky. The battles this game takes place in, the American Revolution, are cool, but I really don't care for any of them. Than there's the naval combat missions, which are fun, but I really didn't think they were needed at all. The Multiplayer...(sigh) it was never needed either; it never should've existed in the first place!
Assassin's Creed III feels more like a history book than an actual game. The developers just added a bunch of crap to a franchise that didn't need it. At the end of the day, Assassin's Creed III is complete waste of time and money.
Absolutely. For an expansion on this, visit my review.
