The lights are on
Crytek is best known for creating Far Cry, Crysis, and The CryEngine, but that doesn't mean this studio can't try to carve out a piece of the MOBA pie.
Arena of Fate is the developer's foray into the popular genre, featuring a variety of heroes, a focus on teamwork, and a free-to-play structure.
Check out the images and teaser trailer below. The best news is that you won't have to wait long to play; Arena of Fate is scheduled for a summer 2014 release, and you can apply for beta now.

What division of crytek?
Jesus Christ, how many more "original" fantasy-esque MOBAs do we need? And do Crytek honestly think they can compete with the likes of LoL and DOTA when they don't bring anything new to the table?
I think MOBAs are quickly becoming a novelty at this point. I feel like if you aren't already LoL, DOTA 2, or Smite, you don't have much of a chance to catch on.
Is that the bad guy from Princess and the Frog?
So....anybody else want to make a moba?
You know a moba that would shock and impress me a star wars tie fighter and xwing version were you got to dog fight your way to victory.
I was disappointed non off the big 3 console manufacture had a Moba at E3. Each company has enough first party characters to put one out and stream line it for consoles... Maybe next year:)
Isn't that voodoo dude from Princess and the Frog?
Jesus, really? First EA, now Crytek? Aren't these people paid to make good financial decisions for their company? Don't they see what's gonna happen? A "genre" with one or two massively popular games that requires a fair amount of commitment from players to enjoy? Don't they remember what happened to the MMOs that tried to compete with WoW? This is essentially the same situation, with a bunch of companies trying to get a piece of the pie now that it's gone. If someone wants to get into MOBAs and all their friends are playing DOTA and League, why would they commit to learning the nuances of another game? If someone already does play either of those games, why would they switch? Not only is this a cash-grab, it's a short-sighted, boneheaded cash-grab.
People saying "Oh look, another MOBA! So original!"
Why there is no "Oh look, another shooter[RPG]! So original"
Really, stop it.
