  • I really hope sega put's up a demo soon so gamer's can decide for themselves if this game is worth purchasing...there is a huge update when you first load the game that clean's up a lot of stuff, they have a breakdown on sega's website about it.I bought the game and I'm a huge alien's fan and I love the game I'm from the era when this series was spawned and I have to sit here and look at all these stupid unfair review's of what I think is the best alien's game out ever.I'm not saying it is perfect there is room for improvement but if your a true alien's fan i think your missing out if you don't grab this game.when you give a game a 4 it's not even playable it's broken the controls don't work, the graphics are down right horrible. This game is none of that,no it doesn't look as good as gears of war or halo but the graphics are good enough,it contol's just fine, the story is decent, you don't have to agree with the way the whole story is but it's not that bad.yes the AI marine's in the game are a bit off at time's as far as there reaction's to what's going on,I saw in someone's review that they complained about how the alien's would run past your marine mate's and try to get to you ,this is true it doesnt happen all the time but it does happen a lot.BUT BUT no one ever complained about that in the call of duty game's cause most of the enemy fire is focused on you rather than anyone helping you but it's call of duty they can get away with that(phiff).Anyway if your a aliens fan and not some nit picky gamer that has to have a AAA title(ALIENS game didnt have a AAA budget) all the time then I don't know what to tell ya but if your a gamer that can just sit back enjoy a game and doesn't need all the latest bells and whistles and can just play a FPS without it needing to be halo or call of duty then give this game a shot. its a standard FPS with ALIENS clothing, hell I'M  A GAMER AND I LOVE ALIENS SO I'M ALL IN.....NO less than a 7 grade IMO.

  • I thoroughly agree. All the reveiws from gaming sites have been really harsh. It's in no way shape of form a 4/10. I give it a 7/10 at least. I'm enjoying the crap out of it.

  • I think its hit or miss depending on the person playing but yeah a 4 is pretty harsh. One thing I really don't get is why the hell they don't put demos out a week before release just for the reason of testing it out because I would say, well they never looked into the game or played the demo so how can they b*tch, but then they cant because there is no demo. Put demos out jesus that is what their purpose is and put it out before release not months later like ME3 and MW3

  • These critics are rating it low because of glitches and bugs (every game has those on the day it comes out and it gets an update just as Aliens Colonial Marines did)

ALSO, may I point out that they are trying to say that it is nowhere near worthy of being a sequel to Aliens, the 1986 Movie that is still thought of as one of the greatest movies of all time. It is going to be difficult to make a game that is worthy of being a sequel to it, what they gave us was a good game that I enjoy without end, I would give it at least a 7.8, and at most a 8.5

It is not perfect, but it is still a great game, they expected way too much form this game.

  • Yeah, that patch seems to have helped, because I haven't run into problems like graphics pop ups, or sudden draw in, or things like that.  Although there was one time, I shot a xeno's head off, and for a few seconds, it looked like a baseline polygon set up for its skull, before finally rezzing up into its fully drawn form.   I laughed.

The story is really good too.  To me, it turns a lot of things about ALIEN 3 on its ear, but still maintains enough integrity to not completely write off much that happened after ALIENS.

But I'm on my third playthrough right now, with all my customized weapons, and am still having a blast.  :)

  • I first played ACM with a visiting friend on his PS3.  I believe this version deserved a lower rating than the Xbox360 version I purchased a few days ago.  The coop for the 360 works MUCH better than on the PS3.  The AI is also noticably more intelligent in the 360 version.

True, there are still some bugs.  All in all, though, I have thoroughly enjoyed the 360 version and give it a 7/10.

Lack of OMS moments and a limited weapon upgrade scheme hold this game back. Take note that finding the legendary weapons adds a little flair to the weapon scheme, but come on Gearbox, no persistant Smartgun???
