Trade in now, if you are going to do it. The value of everything will only go down over time.

I, personally intend to keep my system and games. Although, I do not keep many games these days. Play them, beat them, trade them in. I keep only the ones with lasting personal value.

After sitting on a pile of PS1 and PS2 games for a long time, I learned my lesson about getting trade in value as soon as possible. The closer the release of the PS4 comes, the more the market will be flooded with used PS3s, driving down trade in values.

With all this said, we are being told, the PS4 will not be backwards compatible to the PS3 or the PS2, and only the PS1 compatibility will remain intact. For what ever that is worth.

I still have my PS2, and I will keep my non backwards PS3. I have confidence, the PS3 will have diminishing, but quality support for at least two years into the release of the PS4. It was this way with the PS1 and PS2 as they were carried into the new generation for the same period.

I will not be running out to get a release date PS4. I did it for the PS2, and I honestly did not see a benefit beyond being able to say I had one, when others did not. I will be waiting for the PS3 to be phased out a bit, and for the PS4 to work through bugs, upgrades, and price drops (fingers crossed, but not holding breath on that).

In short; sell now, and get ahead of the crowds, or keep it and enjoy it for nostalgic purposes. Just my thoughts.

I can't speak for anyone else but I can speak for myself; I don't play the PSP "anymore" for two major reasons...

Number One: No support. The PSP's collection of games wasn't small by any means but there weren't many stand-out titles. I feel like a majority were either remakes of older games or sequels to games released on other platforms. That said, I was able to find some hidden gems but those alone weren't enough to keep me playing.

Number Two: The Vita is out. If you are confused as to why that would make any difference, think of the Vita as the Gameboy Color and the PSP as the original Gameboy. The original made way for the Color because the Color had new features which developers could use to make better games. Now apply the same logic to the PSP and the Vita. I, as a consumer, have no reason to play the PSP when there are better games being made elsewhere.

I also think that the new Tearaway game coming up will insipre new game developers to make new Vita games because of it's excellent use of the system. Thus solving the "not enough games" problem.

I agree with SammichMachine. More games! Re-release Dream Drop Distance for vita!

I also heard that the Vita will connect with PS4 like the PS3 was supposed to. Being able to play downloaded games or even the disc inside the PS4 on the Vita. This alone would help the Vita's sales exponentially.

I have heard that it's an ok game for what its on. Some people may think that it will be like all consoles but it's on a little 5 inch screen that right now has a lot of limitations to what it can all do. But if you want games to kill hours go with Ragnarok Odyssey, Uncharted, or Sly Cooper 4. They are really great. Ragnarok is a pain because it's a card baised system. You got to find the right types of cards to match your fighting style.

DooM 1 and 2 !!! BEST games ever! Also Timesplitters series would be GREAT in HD. The premise and story in the TS games was so awesome. I am still really surprised they got dropped this generation...

Being unemployed, I'm definitely surprised how much I save when purchasing used games. I dabble in new games purchases here and there, but only if they're titles I'm really excited for. The only game that I've been extremely excited for is Dark Souls 2. I haven't been this excited since I first played Pokemon Red. I can't say how much I've purchased over the year - or in general. I just wish someone would give me my first job. How am I supposed to get "experience" when no one will give me a chance? Or when volunteering doesn't count as any added bonus for job hiring.

I grew up playing the Super Nintendo and Playstation one. For me, it isn't about the price or whether or not the system is going to be popular. Sony has given me rich adventures that I can't find on any other platform. Nintendo has great games like Mario, Donkey Kong and Pokemon, but that's the extent they give me. Sony gave me Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, etc. Because of this, many people are going to be purchasing the PS4. A lot of Playstation owners have fond childhood memories with the Playstation brand. Will the next PS4 be a success? It'll definitely be greater than how the PS3 was first perceived. Will it surpass the Next X-Box in terms of sales numbers? Well, I honestly don't care about sales numbers. What it'll come down to is the customer and game support. If Microsoft doesn't deliver their fans games, then they will fall.

Growing up, my favorite series was Spyro the Dragon. Hell, I still love it that I've owned the digital copies from PSN ever since they were downloadable.

i agree that's the only draw back. because, while you can get good games for free. they only stay that way if you still have the subscription.
