Too early to worry about that for now. With move and kinect out i dont see a next-gen comin anytime soon.

Ya i like the consoles we have now and if you watch the the 15 anniversity video it says i have a final announcment which means they wont come out with a ps4 and if they did then it wouldent be much differnt then the ps3

i really dont no anything about the ps4 but... i hope its a good quality system and odviously better than the ps3 (not saying the ps3 isnt the best system right now becasue it is)...

The news I have heard about next-gen consoles is that they are being put on hold for a few years because people are happy with their current consoles and games. Also game developers are starting to get more comfortable with making better games for the 360 and ps3. Honestly I hope there is no ps4 until 2013.... I've really been enjoying my ps3 the last 2 years and it is only looking better in 2010.

i know if sony comes out with ps4, its guna be soon and their guna make mistakes just like what happend with the psp, but maybe it can help them and get some boosting momentum by releasing it early?

i know they just made the ps3 and the x-box and they are already makin new ones when the ps3 just came out not even a year ago. I think they should just slow down a little. Right?

its waaaaaaaay!!!!! to early I got my subscription to netflix I am just getting into online gaming Im 33 and have played many a console but seriously I got an PS3 early $600 now you can get an 120g system for $300 and I had to wait to get an controller that had rumble featured my 360 failed and I don't remember where my wii is any more I think I let the neighbors borrow it and they forgot they had it and I don't miss it. Not ready for new systems until they get these right.

I think Sony's in the best position for the next console cycle, because I don't think they really have to make completely new hardware to contend with Microsoft and Nintendo. One of the big problems when the PS3 launched (besides the price point) was it was completely new hardware that no one had experience creating for. That with the price point made developers stray away from developing for it for awhile.

Now with the price being cut in half (not counting the 20gb one) and developers giving it a chance, it's finally possible to see why Sony developed the PS3 like it is. Developers are starting to show their support for it. Games are no longer (well, mostly) coming out weeks or even months on the 360 before the PS3, not counting exclusitivity deals.

Some news that went under alot of peoples heads at E3 was Sony reducing the cost of the development tools for the PSP by 80%. While I know it won't be that big, I'm expecting Sony will announce a price cut on the PS3 development tools at E3, even furthering developers support for it.

yea i know what you mean @lynmic88. next gen console scare the hella out of me. next gen consoles might be and prolly wiil be, so up-to-date and smart that the game will play you instead of the other way around. im very happy with current consoles.

i don't see how i'll afford $300 lol..

luckily it's going to be a long while until those come out..the 'ps4' or the '720' are nothing more than add-ons to drag on the life of the consoles like Natal for example.. Devs aren't ANYWHERE near close to getting the most out of the PS3, so why would dev' move on? they won't because the ps3 is just starting to be profitable so why would they wanna make another risky jump?

if new consoles came out every 3-4 years there wouldn't be any time for anything to get done and besides..it's not up to sony to push out games it's the developers if a PS4 were to pop out tomorrow nobody would make games for it because it would be to risky and a waste of money when they could just keep making PS3 games..

I know there is much that sony can still do with the PS3. Devs have not even begin to use its max power. Nintendo doesnt really need to do anything cause its sitting on monster cash do to the way the wii has been projected in the media. Microsoft is the only company that would need to release a new console the soonest. Cause the 360 is made with such cheap materials that its dying all the time. Thats the reason i went and got a PS3 instead of just buying another 360 after mine got stolen. And i couldnt be happier that i did. :) i love you sony.

I think its a bit to early to even think about the next one, but if I had to..

First, it would be powered by a hamster wheel.

Second, it would be shaped like a sledge hammer in case of a zombie outbreak

And third, it would have an advanced vocalized response system, one that sounds like either Sean Connery, Optimus Prime, or Grom Hellscream. "you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?" Sony and Microsoft are the last ones that need to worry about console updates. As of right now, the only one who is lacking in terms of overall power is the Wii, with graphics and functionality. But even then, I would say that all 3 businesses are in a position in which software, updates, and upgraded versions of their present systems are the most intelligent way to go.

I don't really think there SHOULD be a Ps4, only because of the online updates you already get for the ps3, they could just release a firmware update, similar to the way Apple has firmware updates for the iPod and iPhone. But, I guess if they want the console to have certain new features they can't achieve with firmware or peripherals, they will have to have a Ps4 eventually.
