The lights are on
I've kept almost all my receipts from all the games and accessories I've bought since around August 2010. I got bored at work and I've been meaning to add them up to see just how much I spend on video games, cause I swear my wife spends more money.
It all added up to... ***, the calculator turned off. It was like 690 something. Is this too much? About right? Or do you think you embarrass your wallet way more than I do?
I think it could be worse. For a while I would only buy P2 games cause I got drunk one night and accidentally gave my P3 to my roommate. But I wouldn't spend more than 25 dollars and I would walk out with 3 or 4 quality games.
The total amount doesn't include the 120 I had to pay to get my P3 back.
EDIT: I was going to post this in the general gaming discussion board but there's a ton of threads posted by like 2 people about live streaming sports or some crap like that. What the hell is going on there?
I spend a ton of money on video games each weeks. I would pick up a game for my xbox360, ps3, and vita depending on what game attracts my attention or meaning to get. There were times that I would buy more than one copies of the same game (ie, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Skyrim, Dragon Dogma) so I can keep one and give the other copy to my nephew or younger brother.
A couple hundies to be sure, maybe near a g
I ususally buy one or two big blockbusters a year like AC, COD or Skyrim and about five or six smaller cheaper more indie games which adds up to about £110 a year
I usually pre-order one or two big games that I can't wait for, and then I get a few others that are older from my backlog. I can't afford to go too crazy yet lol, maybe someday with a better job.
this year, lets say about......... probably $2200:) atleast. Blame the fact that i got a 3ds and most of the ds games that i ever missed from the origional breaking, the used ps vita, and the wii u(plus a new hard drive for my ps3 this week). o well i spent like 900-1150 of it in the last month. Mostly its $5-25 a piece used games most years. This year though is the year i went and bought or upgraded systems and started giving some of the older versions away
only paid full price on games for super mario 3d land, sports champions 2, uncharted golden abyss, acIII,and ac III liberations. Oh and i tend to like psn exlusives a bit too much
Everyone is going to have radically different amounts they spend on
their hobbies. making all my monthly expenses, and feel
happy about the amount m putting away for savings as I am frequently taking advantage of news deals like PS3 Ultimate Combo Pack which i bought recently
way to much
thats about what i spend. not including psn games lol
I dont send to much on games any more, i prefer to rent them first and if i like it i will usually buy it. I think ives spent like 200 on games in the last year
I use to rent games, then if I liked them, I would buy them - but now I just ask my nephew what the hottest games are out there and whatever he has in his collection I will buy it for mine - he talked me into buying a PS3 about 2 months ago and he talked me into buying Skyrim - he told me some other games to get. I use to spend $200 to $300 a year on PS2 games - trade them in at Gamestop and get more games.
So the last game I bought was Need for Speed Most Wanted for the PS3 - so far I've spent about $100 since I've had the PS3 - I paid $60.00 for Skyrim, $25.00 for NFSMW and another $15.00 for NFS The Run. So who knows what my total will be before the year is out, cause there are more games I'm wanting to buy.
I think I spend around 1000 to 1500 bucks a year on gaming. This includes games, new tech for my consoles like controllers and headsets, but in the long run I do use the items to get my money's worth.
I would say around 500 a year
i would probably buy about 3 or 4 games a year. that i liked.
Being unemployed, I'm definitely surprised how much I save when purchasing used games. I dabble in new games purchases here and there, but only if they're titles I'm really excited for. The only game that I've been extremely excited for is Dark Souls 2. I haven't been this excited since I first played Pokemon Red. I can't say how much I've purchased over the year - or in general. I just wish someone would give me my first job. How am I supposed to get "experience" when no one will give me a chance? Or when volunteering doesn't count as any added bonus for job hiring.
