The lights are on
Food for thought: should PS3 owners sell their current-gen consoles in preparation for the next-gen soon to be announced? Think about it. When the new stuff comes out, the old stuff's price drops. So, knowing this, should gamers sell their PS3's before the world knows about the PS4?
I guess if you are done playing PS3 games and looking to get the most in return for your trade in it would be a smart move. However if you still want to game on the PS3 prior to the launch of the PS4...well I think the answer is obvious.

I wouldn't. I still have loads of PS3 games to play. I don't know if the PS4 will be backwards compatible. If it isn't, then I wouldn't sell anything unless you just don't play it anymore.
I agree. Too many unknowns right for me to feel comfortable selling my PS3
If you're like me then the answer would be "no." I still have a huge backlog of PS3 games to play. On top of that the PS4 won't be backwards compatible so I'm definitely keeping my PS3.
Def not selling my PS3 now.
It is my understanding that the PSN games I bought for the PS3 will not work on the PS4. This is why I'm definitely not getting rid of my PS3.
It will not have backward compatibility but the said that sooner or later they would have most of the ps1-3 games on ps store and you can play on ps4 and vita
I prefer to own the physical copies of games rather than downloading, but I also prefer not to pay buttloads of dollars for an out of print PS1 or PS2 game. Fortunately I own most of the games I would want anyway. Although I no longer have a PS1 I do have both a PS2 and a PS3, so I can still play all my old pre PS3 games. And seeing as PS4 is not backwards compatible with any past system I will keep mine.
I would keep mine also.
The idea is to keep it as long as it lives...then just before it wheezes its last breath...bring it to gamestop...and trade it in towards *insert epic PS4 game name here*.
That is, if it ever crashes...if not it will join my other systems and will wait on a shelf til i'm feeling nostalgic! :)
(so no...not planning on selling it)

I have always adopted the wait for new system to release, and give it to a younger family member or a friend instead because you will not get much for it, and they will enjoy it a whole lot method...
well first off my question is if i do sell my ps3 are my trophies going to be transferred to the ps4 if not then no i will keep mine because that is stupid real gamers actually work for those trophies and want to keep them not just to start over I mean say if you do start well back in 6 years again you are back right their starting over again in trophies when the ps5 comes so back to my question if i do sell my ps3 will my trophies transfer over to ps4??????
This is my question... We all have hundreds worth in games and selling them would be a huge set back because once you buy and play a game also as it gets older the price drops. So if we do sell we wont get our money's worth. My quetion is: How will or does the cloud work? I love the games i have and i might want to play them again but if i cant I dont think ill buy a ps4. I want to keep all my games and I think the ps4 is just a big inconvinence.
