The lights are on
If they charge and I subscribe, I'd be satisfied as long as I'm getting my money's worth. When I had my 360, I was an XBL Gold member and I thought the price tag on that was fair. It's when you had to be a Gold member to use something simple like Netflix that I had to draw the line. But, I'd have to see what Sony is offering. I'm a current Qore subscriber, so I'd be interested to see what they're rolling out.

There are no such thing as tornadoes. Chuck Norris just hates trailer parks.
I'm also curious to see how Sony plans on enticing consumers to sign up to premium accounts. Maybe discounts on downloadable games? That might give an edge over Microsoft on the cross-platform games, and people buying hard-copies of games in general.
I don't believe they will require you to pay for online gaming in the near future. However I can see them offering a membership to get things sooner like beta access to Sony exclusives, or other exclusive extras. Saying Sony is going to charge for online gaming is just like saying Sony is going to drop the price of the PS3. After saying it for more then a year it did finally happen. So keep saying it and you will be right... someday.
