The lights are on
I may not play it as much as I used to or even as much I'd like to, but I still love my PSP for it is: Portable gaming goodness. But, with the PS Vita almost upon us, I fear that the PSP is about to become irrelevant really, really fast. That's a shame too because some of the best gaming experiences can still be had on the PSP. What do you think?
I think the days of the PSP are numbered. If Square Enix would bring Final Fantasy Type 0 to the States, then it would live longer.
Im sure they're waiting to bring it to the vita.
For me, even though I haven't done it yet, I want to keep my psp around to hack it and put an emulator on it so I can play some *** PSX games. But when it comes to actual psp games, I haven't bought any in a while and I cant really find any worth getting. I still like it though, and I'm not planning on geting rid of the games I already have.
Of course not. The PSP's getting Corpse Party this fall, and if Japan decides to export FF: Type O stateside then it'll live at least another 4-5 months.
It's a 6 year old console that's had a rough life cycle. It's still great. It will die off, but in the same way that the PS2 did. And the PS2 is still standing strong. And I bet Japan will continue to support it after the Vita releases.
To early. The PS VIta might replace some of the psp systems, but people will continue to play there psp games.
Agree with David.....PSP has a lot of features I will still like even after Vita launches.....
If JP developers still sending PSP games in the Vita format, then surely it is the end of the PSP.
Its a little to early once the vita gains more popularity and is out for awhile then it will be time to say goodbye to the psp.
I don't think so. I've enjoyed my system since '06. But the software is lacking right now. My screen cracked and I have no interest in getting it fixed , and there are no titles that are really grabbing my attention as a "must have". And its a good time for change. Everyone wanted a true update besides the PSPGo, with dual analogs. They admitted that they didn't focus enough on the PSP, but now with the Vita we can see they put a lot of focus on it.
I think it's crawling into it's grave as we speak. I've already sold mine, because I've already played all the great games on it. I'm just waiting for the Vita
One died in India. Three was tracked down in Brazil. I am the only one left. I am The Second Musketeer
I think the real question is it too early to call PSP gaming old school? i have a PSP and a 3DS and while at the moment the PSP is really behind in technology compared to the 3DS I always like the games for their long story lines and generally better graphics then the DS.
