The lights are on
PSP Custome Firmware.
Is it worth the risk of bricking your system, and the effort put into it? Do the benefits outweigh the risks and the drawback of not having the PSN store?
Everyone loves a nice PINGAS!
Actually, the current method of installing custom firmware (through service mode) would guarantee against getting a brick. And up until sony rolled out an update, users with CFW could still access the PSN network. There really are no risks as long as one follows the instructions on how to properly do it. It's not rocket science, anyone who can read can do it right.
Definately worth it. Having a normal legit PSP is so, eh whats the word, oh ya....boring. Just think about it, an emulator for basically every system below PS2 and many other apps and homebrew. Just do it.
Yes it is and its not that hard to do the CFW update. Actually it was the only reason I bought a fat psp when they first came out.
Check this site out if you havent already.
So as you notice its not hard at all. Pandora battery ftw.
I would strongly advise against it! You would be flirting with all things evil. The CFW is a gateway drug to stealing. Are you a stealer? Some might tell you that you can run homebrew games and other such things that are entertaining, but will surely leave you wanting more. Then comes the ability to play backup games and then it's all down hill. Do you want to be the one resposible for causing the great video game crash of 2009? I don't think so.
