The lights are on
I never really use my PS2 because I don't have many games for it. I own and love Shadow of the Colossus, the Devil May Cry Trilogy, We Love Katamari, Cold Winter, Resident Evil 4, and Gran Turismo 4. I know all of the big name games like God of War and Final Fantasy and whatnot, so please don't mention them. I'm looking for good games that I can't find on a 'Top Ten' list. What do you recommend?
Try Chrono Cross for the original Playstation, Beyond Good And Evil, Okami, Ico, Kingdom Hearts, and even though you said nothing off a top ten list I still have to say the GTA series.
They're all probably 'Top Ten' games, but I think the Ratchet and Clank series is one of the finest game series ever made.
Going a little more obscure, Dragon Quest VIII is excellent if you have the patience for it.
Legend of Dragoon...i think. It's been awhile, but i think that's what it's called. Sick 3-disc rpg with an actual decent story.
Gun (western) was nice, but the world was small. Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 were fun (If I were you I would get substance and subsistence). The Zone of the enders series was pretty cool (the 1st one not so much, 2nd runner is better). I liked persona 3 and 4 but they're not for everyone. Daxter and Ratchet and clank are fun. If you played shadow you had to have played Ico. Burnout 3 was a fun multiplayer game. Soul Calibur 3 was cool too.
Bullets....*gasp* my only weakness!

Playing Online: Twisted Metal, Uncharted 3, and Battlefield 3, sometimes AC revelations
An awesome first person RPG I found and love to this day. Might be tough to find someone selling it though. Kings Field: The Ancient City. The exploration and many weapons available is awesome. You are given very little direction in how to continue through the game, you just kinda have to figure it out.
I absolutely adore it, hopefully you do too!
I also suggest Okami, and Star Wars:Battlefront or Star Wars: Battlefront II
Wow! A lot of good games here. I also own Okami, though I haven't yet played it (sadface). The only GTA game I've ever really enjoyed is IV. I owned Gun back when I had an Xbox (I miss that console) but I do need to get Beyond Good and Evil and give Ico a second try. Kings Field: The Ancient City and Legend of Dragoon sound interesting and I've heard good things about Dragon Quest.
Thanks for the help everyone!
Gta San andreas, Jak 2, jak 3, any ratchet and clank game, need for speed most wanted, sly cooper series, kingdom hearts 1-2, kingdom hearts chain of memories and wow those are all the games I can think of I havent played my ps2 in forever.
Michael Davis.
Okami and MGS3
jeez...off the top of my head i can recommend genji: dawn of the samurai. it has great graphics, great plot, and it won't bore you. though if you're a wuss like me, it'll scare you.
i can also give you naruto, not ultimate ninja, because it actually made the top ten after hitting shippudden (sad about this), but uzumaki chronicles. don't laugh.
other than that, there's a world of others that i can't name from memory. i dunno, did atv make the top ten? and then there's burnout, fatal frame, and a couple of the sims games.
Ratchet and Clank: up your arsenal and Dragon Ball Z: Boudokai Tenkaichi 3!
Silent Hill 2, 3, and 4 are my favorites. Other good games are Kingdom Hearts one and two, Tekken Tag Tournament, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Legend of Legaia 2, Ico, Jak and Dexter, Ratchet and Clank Series, and all the Sly Cooper games.
I'm not sure which games make your top ten list and which don't, so I'm just going to list my favorites and you can go from there.
Jak and Daxter was one of the best trilogies to come out for the PS2. Amazing, amazing games. Also favorite titles of mine were the Ratchet and Clank series as well as the Sly Cooper series.
Honorable mentions: Kingdom Hearts. Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm, James Bond: Nightfire, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
Jak and Dexter games are good, Kingdom Hearts series, Dark Cloud 1 and 2 were pretty alright, I also really enjoyed the Xenosaga series.
Are Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 part of your collection too? I'm pretty sure those two are in the top ten (or even 5) lists but anyway.
I would suggest a couple of RPGs like Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 and 4. And if you love Shadow of the Colossus, you might want to get Ico if you haven't yet since it's from the same developers. Hope this helps.
