in this thread we will discuss your favorite open world games ever!!! you can also discus why you think certain games are better than other ones.

My opinion right now if i had to choose would have to be mine craft, you can make and do what your brain and imagination will allow= amazing

now reality it would have to be wow for PC

console i would have to say skirm or maybe dragon age, good rpg many things to do

also quick note final fantasy would be in there but haven't played that much

GTA will always reign supreme with open world games. From its roots on the ps1 to blowing everyone's mind with GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, to creating an emotional experience like no other GTA with GTA 4, it is amazing in always will be. Can't wait for 5! Props to Infamous and Just Cause 2. Awesome games as well

OBVIOUSLY: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I thought people were done making the arrow the knee jokes, but I'm wrong. People stop using that meme now, it's beating a dead horse. It's funny the first few times you hear it, and now it's freaking everywhere you go (on the internet).

OT: I'm guessing Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. But obviously MMO's will take the prize if that's counted.

MMOs are big sure, but compared to smaller open world console games, they really are limited in what you can do in them. I feel that size isn't the most important thing in an open world game, its what you can do in the space you have. I ting that games like saints row, though campy, makes an impressive use ogre the space given. But my give would have to be either Skyrim or red dead redemption. The sheer amount of things you can do in the space allotted is really impressive.

Yeah, that's a really good point. It's better to utilize the space that you are given, instead of just adding more land to make the world feel bigger with nothing in between.

I may get a lot of hate for saying this, but I didn't find Red Dead Redemption all that great. I actually thought it was kind of boring, and after that I just tried to finish the game as soon as possible haha.

I don't think AC: Brotherhood really qualifies as an open world game as it is much more linear than say Skyrim or such. Unless AC3B stands for something else, then I have no idea what that stands for. :)

well if your going for console's its skyrium hands down even though i don't play it going off reviews, but MMO's on PC its going to be diablo3 but right now i would have to say mine craft hands down wow is losing ppl

I would call Assassin's Creed an open world. You can go do whatever you want. You don't need to do the objectives. If you just want to scale tall buildings and jump off, you are welcome to do so. If you want to just go around creating massive battles by attracting all sorts of guards then you are welcome to do so. Granted, the third game is not as big as the first two just because it does not have multiple areas, but it might be about the same size. Haven't played the fourth one yet.

Any Bethesda game. That might be setting the scope a bit too wide, but I love the Fallout series, Elder Scrolls series, and RAGE.

No doubt The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, i like this game very much.
