The lights are on
We have both seen Sony's and Microsoft's conference revealing thier next gen consoles. But which one were you mostly excited about? If you were to choose, would you get the Xbox one or the PS4? Why?
It blows my mind how much of a land slide it seems to be in PS4's favor. I know that people are buying the XBOX ONE, but it seems most who are, are also buying the PS4. Is there anyone who is just getting XB1? Also I'm making the switch from 360 to PS4 because I don't need my gaming system to be a all around entertainment system. I just want to play games on it. I think that if M$ had come out and said that they were going to do just the system without the forced kinect and everything that comes with it, but you can buy the kinect and if you do you can run all your entertainment through it. I think M$ would still be in the running but because they aren't giving the consumer the choice people are getting really upset about it. I think the XB1 could be decent but no company should ever force people to have product they don't really want.
i am getting both
I have the Xbox One pre-ordered. To me, they are very similar in terms of overall power with the Playstation 4 having a slight edge, but Microsoft has secured some great exclusives that I want to play, where Sony's biggest push has been with getting indies to support them. I'm not a big indie gamer, so Sony's approach isn't as interesting to me.
Beyond that, I like Microsoft's all in one vision for what consoles should be, and the use of Kinect to seamlessly move between different functions is something I want. Kinect is not the best option for gaming, but it does have several uses that make it worthwhile, just as I believe that Sony's Playstation Eye will bring value to the Playstation 4.
In the end it came down to total price for me. If I were to get the Playstation 4, I would want to invest in the Eye, Move, etc. as well as they provide different gaming possibilities that a simple controller does not. Yet, to do so costs more in the end than to purchase an Xbox One, which has the Kinect packaged in and has no additional motion controls.
I think both will be great in their own way, but for me, Microsoft came off as being the better option.
For ps4 the move I don't see being a necessary need as the controller is now a move thus u don't need the move especially with its poor ps3 usage. Gesture recognition and voice control are all possible with the eye and a ps4 system plus the eye is still 40 bux cheaper than x1. Basically this gen is all about exclusivity
PS4 upon release, as I preordered it the day after they were available. The XBOX One...I may get it later like I did my 360, but most likely will wait until 2015 or so.
PS4 have it pre-ordered along with Assassins Creed IV and Watch Dogs
Definitely PS4. 360 was a decent console, but the only reason I liked it better than PS3 at first was because everyone I knew was on Xbox Live. It made multiplayer a blast when all your friends were on the same network. After 4 failed 360's and the announcement of the mandatory kinect on Xbone Im excited to get my new PS4. I will probably wait a while after launch though. Just got through with "The Last of Us" single player and something tells me I'll be stuck on that game's multiplayer for some time to come.
PS4 for me, but will probably get the Xbox One eventually.

The XBox one left a sour taste in my mouth! Yea big whoop that they are reversing everything (for the consumers or competition with Sony I don't know bur I assume the latter) but they should have done this in the first place, that's why I trust Sony they did it right the first time.
I will buy PS4 first. Microsoft havent shown too much games for X1 yet but there are some games that caught my eye like Remedy's Quantnum Brake.
Both..I have the 360 and PS3(will be keeping them) and also gaining the Xbox One and PS4, the console wars can end, both end up getting exclusive titles that the other doesn't so you might as well cough up the money and buy both is how I see it.
Ah it's a good feeling to be able to buy both the same day and leave most people in the store like "wow, oh no he didn't" but yes I did and will enjoy doing hahaha
Definitely the PlayStation 4. Not only a reason is I don't want to have to be connected to the internet all the time but also would like to be able to swap games with my brother or friends in that matter without having to worry about my games being linked to one system. I hate that option because that's how a lot of my computer games are is they are only allowed to be connected to one steam account. The PlayStation 4 has some amazing games coming out for example, Infamous Second son and The Order: 1886. Looking forward to November 15th!!
@acegamer06- You realize all of the more dubious elements of the One have been removed right?
Either way, the only exclusive at launch on the One that I'm even remotely interested in is Dead Rising 3, and there isn't much I'm looking forward to beyond that that I can't get on PS4 or PC. Sony has had the exclusives that matter to me since the PS1, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Plus, the "re-imagining" of Oddworld Abe's Oddysee is going to be a PS4 exclusive, which is worth the purchase alone for me (it's one of my all-time favorite games), let alone the promise of future games like InFamous and the Order 1886.
In terms of conference, the one by Sony went very smoothly, while the one from Microsoft had many issues, which they later fixed.
I prefer XBox One simply because of their game list, which is far superior to the one from PS4.
