The lights are on
What are the best hack & slash (talkin Ninja gaiden, heavenly sword) games on the ps3,and if you could only own one, which would it be?
God of War, definitely!!
I think Dante's Inferno
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (the 1st one) is an AMAZING game. 2nd one has much less violence, but is very good also in terms of gameplay / fun. Seriously though, 3rd newest one is not even worth a rent. No one should support it and make devs think it is ok to release blatantly sub par games like it.
Bayonetta was really cool also. New Metal Gear looks cool, but I havn't played it yet.
I'd say Lord of the Rings : War in the North. It didn't do well with GameInformer score wise, and I'm not sure about other reviewers, but I loved the hell out of that game. It was so great that I actually decided to platinum it. It also has split-screen co-op which is rare.
Best hack and slash? I'd say Anarchy Reigns or Bayonetta.
I would say Prototype is one of the better hack 'n' slash games. Overall an OK game, but Ubisoft has that battle system down.
Nier is a great hack and slash JRPG? Does that count?
Or try Dynasty Warriors 7??
Dynasty Warriors 8 comes out next month, and its got my vote! I don't play any other hack n' slash series besides, and I've stuck with Dynasty Warriors for about 10 years.
I definitely have to go with Metal Gear Rising. It's fast and responsive. The countering is pretty simple to execute as well as the dodge but in higher difficulties you have to spot on the timing which makes it oh so satisfying. The story is simple but it has a ton of meat if you listen to the codec calls. Lots of Metal Gear Solid references to feed my MGS hunger as well. The boss fights are tough and the soundtrack to the boss fights made me explode my room with my surround sound. Also, the game is pretty short which is a good thing in these type of games. The repetitiveness of the longer hack and slash games get to the point of making the game feel like a chore to finish. This game is roughly five to six hours long and I never felt that. I beat it twice back to back which I've never done that with any other game ever.
Dragon's Crown looks really good, does that count?
Picked it up and have to say Dragon's Crown is excellent ! Only drawback I can see so far is, it does get insanely chaotic and become difficult to tell what is going on in some parts.
Bleach: Soul Resurrection
