The lights are on
I definitely have to go with Metal Gear Rising. It's fast and responsive. The countering is pretty simple to execute as well as the dodge but in higher difficulties you have to spot on the timing which makes it oh so satisfying. The story is simple but it has a ton of meat if you listen to the codec calls. Lots of Metal Gear Solid references to feed my MGS hunger as well. The boss fights are tough and the soundtrack to the boss fights made me explode my room with my surround sound. Also, the game is pretty short which is a good thing in these type of games. The repetitiveness of the longer hack and slash games get to the point of making the game feel like a chore to finish. This game is roughly five to six hours long and I never felt that. I beat it twice back to back which I've never done that with any other game ever.
