The lights are on
I currently own a 360 and a Wii and enjoy them alot.
I am on Xbox live, but do not utilize it alot. We also belong to Netflix.
I have an oppurtunity to purchase a PS3 and am not sure if it it worth the investment.
Would I be better off taking the money and just purchasing more games for the other systems?
I own a 720p HDTV.
What are the pros and cons of making this huge(in my case) investment?
In my opinion the PS3 exclusives are now better then the 360's, and God Of War III alone justifies buying a PS3.
GOW dose not justify buying a PS3 unless your a fan of the series and you shouldn't buy any console for just one game that is incredibly stupid ESPECALLY if the console has multiple great exclusives.
- Uncharted Series
- God of War Collection
- God of War III
- LittleBigPlanet
- >>>>>METAL GEAR SOLID 4<<<<<
- Heavy Rain
- Ratchet and Clank Future Series
- Killzone Series
as mentioned by jpow(with a small touch hehe)
Um but anyway.... pros:blu-ray movies, ps3 has netflix and its own movie store, internet browser thats faster than the other consoles(but not much new), Metal gear^,
cons: The cost of buying a console
It boils down to 2 things:1 - Do you plan on getting a Blu-ray player?2 - Do you like the PS3 exclusives?
My favorite PS3 games: Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Little Big Planet, and God of War Collection + God of War 3

I can honestly say that I think the Playstation 3 has now surpassed the Xbox. The online play on Microsoft is still better, but youll also have to pay for it. PS3 is releasing 9+ exclusives one after the other: Ratchet and Clank, infamous, uncharted 2 (10), GOW3 (10), Heavy Rain, kill zone 2, resistance 2, and more big hits coming out like Mod Nation Racers and Gran Turismo 5. The PS3 is also more reliable and the discs are Blu-ray.
I don't yet have a PS3, but I've done my research and this is what I have:
- Free online service (No where near the standards Microsoft has set with LIVE, but you get what you pay for. Crap. But, it's free, so who's complaining?
-PSM; Move, anyone?
-Blu-Ray; games can handle more powerful engines and such.
-Uncharted 2; God of War III(Not a fan of it); Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots, inFAMOUS

@Matthew Cash PSN is certainly missing some key features that Live has but it really isn't crap it is just a barebones online service and also of course you aren't a fan of God of War your a kid you shouldn't be.
Pro: your PS3 will be more reliable
Con: online won't be as good

I have all three systems too (but not liv yet) and I have to say if you don't use live much, you won't mind the PS3 Network's problems, and if you have Netflix and an HD tv, then PS3 is the way to go because it makes watching your favorite shows in HD all the easier. Also it doubles as a Blu-Ray player which can save you some money. As for exclusives, the PS3 and 360 both have enough good ones to buy both systems, but if I had to choose only one I'd pick the PS3. Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, God of War, Heavy Rain. All great games my life would not be complete without.
