I just spent 60 bucks on Heavy Rain. Now I can't play it because I keep getting this error: "Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit. (8001050F)".

I changed my wireless network to a different network in the house, and I checked that my internet connection worked by going to google news and getting current day news. So what is wrong? Well, it seems like the playstation network is down. I can't get on the playstation.com websites on the internet either.

So my question is: why do I have to be able to log onto the playstation network to play a game that I paid for the media for? Why do I have to have trophies to play a game? Is there any way to disable trophies?

What if I didn't have the internet? Would that mean that none of my games would ever play?

Any help on how to fix this problem would be great.

Dude my friend and I have the same error.... I'm looking online and there is a ton of people that this issue is affecting today. Maybe they are getting ready for an update... I wanna play cod.... any game with trophies will not be able to load. It will be fixed soon, it has to be.

The funny part is I can't even get to Playstation help. The phone line says "Thank you for calling playstation consumer services. Unfortunately, we are not able to handle your call at this time. For faster service, go to www.us.playstation.com/support..." Well that site is down too, I can't even get to the page where I Email their support.

Good thing they made it so that when their network is down, no one can play their games. That was a smart idea...

PSN is having some server problems. There working on fixing it right now. Though they may have already fixed it.

I have an launch console and i have the same problem, i am kinda mad at Sony and i think this is worse than the Red Ring of Death. At first i thought it was my internet connection then thought it was my ethernet cable, then i came online to see if anyone else had the same problem and saw it was on all the gaming sites.

The problem was already fixed last night.

The problem began last Sunday evening where the system encountered an imaginary day, February 29, 2010.

Because of that, the system freaked out and reseted the clock to the Y2K-esque day of December 31, 1999.

All you had to do was wait 24 hours for the imaginary day to pass, which would have ended last night.

All you need to do now is re-sync the calender to the Internet or manually change it with the Time/Date settings, since the day will be 1 behind.

I'm just glad I got all my trophy info back for Dragon Age. I would of hated to start over to replace the ones I lost.
