The lights are on
The question is as simple as the title says: I have a $5 coupon on Amazon, to buy one of the "Best Of" games of the year.
I've heard many great things about XCOM, and it's $20 with the coupon in effect. However, even though I can push Saints Row The Third to max graphics, I have to set the XCOM demo to low on my laptop. It may be due to the Switchable Graphics not taking effect or something, there's no way for me to tell.
The Walking Dead, on the other hand, I've heard many times needs to be played because it will "change my opinion on gaming". It'd be $7.49 with the coupon in effect.
Darksiders II looks awesome, but I know it's more of a console game. It's running for the same discounted price of $20, just like XCOM.
I also have Gamefly, and will rent on eof these games, but I also want to have one to own as well.
So, which game should I buy, and which ones should I rent?
Fan-art is a great thing! This was the last I worked on.

Get The Walking Dead if you like strong narratives and a slower, more thoughtful pace. Darksiders II has awesome hack-and-slash arcade gameplay. XCOM is a tense, tough strategy game that's still accessible to casual players. Personally, I'd recommend XCOM.
Cool, thank you for the insight. I'll go ahead and get XCOM, like you said. After a night of watching gameplay videos of each, I'll think I'll try it out since I haven't played many strategy games before, and it'll be a good change of pace.
Edit: the game runs at 50 FPS on Max settings, when I could hardly do taht in the demo. Awesome!
