The lights are on
I've never played a game on the PC but yet there are many people who seem to love it more. I have a PS3, and im so used to the controller, always have some sort of console. But now i am asking, what makes PC so much better? Or vise versa...
Quite a few reasons.
PCs, as a platform, have more power and capabilities. Such as, browsers, software, programs, etc.
Games are usually cheaper, starting off at $50 or even $40 for new releases.
Digital release platforms like Steam, Impulse, Direct 2 Drive, and a few others.
Mods. Games like Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights have thriving communities that constantly bring in more and more content for the game or change it around entirely.
Emulators. Want to play an old DS or SNES game? Just go grab an emulator and the game, and voila.
Free online. Though the PS3 does have a free online service (as I understand it), on the PC no one is stopping you from hooking up onto Steam and playing multiplayer.
While this is a thing of the past, general patches were a PC exclusive, but now consoles do get patches regularly.
Torrents.
There may be a few others, but I don't remember them now. The update cycles for PC hardware is a bit shorter than the console cycle, but you're only putting in more RAM or a video card, so its not that much more expensive.
Remember: Three can keep a secret if two are dead. That said, you know what you have to do.
I don't think either is any better then the other.
It's like compareing apple's and lemon's.
Sure you may love the sweet taste of a freshly picked fruit. Console gameing at it's best.
But every now and then you need something different...like fresh squeezed sour citrus.
Kill'em with kindness, it's a slow painful death.

LMAO
that comment was the best so far well said
I have to say, I agree with @Starlyn Hammond. I used to be hardcore PC gamer, now I don't really game much on the PC. However, there are times to logon to the old gal to play games. It has its uses. Say I want to play an ol' game of Warcraft 3 for example. However, I love the advent of console gaming because it means I don't have to worry about compatibility everytime I buy a new top of the line game. Yay standardization.
I just have to say, PC Gaming has a bit of an edge over console. Take CoD WaW: Xbox and PS3 players have to buy new mas including Zombie Maps. PC gamers get to create their own for free.... That pissed me off a little. With basically anygame for the PC that is on a console, you can create anything anywhere.
I stopped PC games a while ago for whatever reason. Might get Dragon Age on PC is I could run it. It an FEAR and COD2 fine, but its 4 years old...

I want from console only to PC. I prefer the PC.
Also those of you saying you don't like checking to see if your PC can play a game or not means you need to get a new PC. I've had mine almost 3 years and have never had to play anything less than the best settings.
It was $1200 when I built that and it included the monitor.
Console games are great to have so you can Coop with friends or fam together in the same room. I Love em and will always have em cuz even girls love gaming now and days. I also love my PC so i can play my MMORPG's and rock out with clans online. I think PC gaming is better tho in category that you have a key board and mouse which is easier i feel to control characters or ships from any game or type. More control= better gaming plain and simple...
Another point, console gamers tend to bash on PC, because they claim you need $1000-$3000 computer just to run games on them. Which is complete bollocks.
If you look now, you can get an amazing build for only around $600-700 that will last you a couple years. And that's not even building it yourself. You could even just pay $100-$200 every couple years if you needed to upgrade too.
Like Virgil was saying, the PC is has an infinitely broader spectrum of entertainment value.
Not only is the PC platform cheaper in the long run, but it will always have the ability to be upgraded on your own terms. Eventually technology is going to reach a point where upgrading is going to be something you'll rarely have to consider. What we consider top of the line PC hardware now will be commonplace ten years from now. The next big leap will be VR.
Another fact that gets skipped over alot is people that hav a console usually have a PC too. Combine those prices together since a gaming PC can be used like a normal PC too.
There is not much of a difference. Both play games right?
PC has free content and also better visuals.
I still prefer consoles but no fps on consoles top CS which is my favorite PC game.
Forget the Wii and Xbox, the PC beats them all hands down!
Here are some obvious reasons: better screen resolutions, CHEAPER games, upgradeable hardware, you are not tied to only one online service and mouse and keyboard support. :D
wow gold
its usually more powerful.
shooters feel just right on pc's as well as RPG's
most MMORPG's are for PC
games are cheaper
better community
mods and other cool stuff
